patterdalejoel 669
i decided to go for a bitch with my old dog, in a sense of he will accept her more as he sees her less of a threat to his head of the pack role, and more of a "i can bonk you when your older" alpha female role, and so far it is kind of working. danny300 2,240
Been out with chips little hound crosses they can sure find game atb with it let's hope your fit they hunt scent for miles Yer that's the one issue with working her a long side the runners, i'm hoping that with the work put in early, holding her back from game for a good bit, and her being a bitch, and solo hound, she 'might' be biddable enough to use as a busher. However, she may well, just be a hound, and do what hounds do, i.e feck off over hill and dale, in which case i guess she will have to be used as a hound. Like i said, a bit of an experiment. she will still go over the hill bud just hope the dogs dont miss much Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,216
PJ - Aye, that's the other advantage! Danny - cheers for the positive thinking I'm kinda guessing that will be the case, but you never know till you try! If she comes back over the hill to home, when she's done, that'd be a start. Ideation 8,216
Cheers all. Well, she has certainly settled in, and starting to get the hang of the whole shitting outside thing. Noisy little bugger though. She's in the house at the moment, caged, and will be for a while, then out in the kennel. Aye Tyla, stress and fun, just hopefully more fun and less stress, although like i said, if she turns out totally unsuited for the job i intend for her, i will find some work that she is suited to. Ideation 8,216
Here's a couple more pics of her awake. She's been pretty good today, spent most of it in the cage in the back of the car (boot open) watching me install water lines and drinkers for phesants, then has a good sleep, and has just spent a couple of hours running around like a little nutter, killing toys and attacking my socks! Finn still refuses to have anything to do with her and has hidden up stairs since she arrived. Quote Link to post
