Realistically you're probably not going to win anything next season, so I do worry that people will say you have gone backwards. There comes a point where you have to stick with a manager and give it time. Fergie was close to the sack when he started at united, cant help but feel he would have been sacked if it was like it is now back then! gnasher16 30,121 Posted June 1, 2012 Report Share Posted June 1, 2012 (edited) From a neutrals point of view it looks a bit of a wimpish signing if you ask me......a couple of decent seasons at Swansea and questionable spells at Reading and Watford,big deal......dont seem enough weight for a big club like Liverpool.......my guess is the owners are simply trying to bargain their way along for the next few years......after all no sensible businessmen are going to throw 100 million at something to get little in return......only to do the same thing next year !.........i cant see many big money signings and would fear this being the first signs of mid table mediocrity for Liverpool........hope not as i like the club but think this was stick or twist and they decided to stick.
