secretagentmole 1,701
Er I don;t think with an FAC you will be looking at air for foxes unless you go for a Benjamin Rogue! Suggest you ask the powder burning brigade, the powder burners are cheaper but the ammo is more expensive! Edited May 29, 2012 by secretagentmole Quote Link to post
kingjohn1966 0
hi mate sorry didnt make it very clear i dont want air for the foxes just the rabbits but i poseted it here also as i know alot of the air gun users also have centerfires etc and could maybe point me in the right direction thanks Quote Link to post
easypeasy 4
Hi Mate, I had a .222 passed for a golf course and surrounding land for fox control, around 500 acres. It is probably the smallest centre fire round for foxes but leathal and accurate up to about 200-250 yards. But you could go for the old 17 hmr , a lot cheaper and accurate up to about 150 yards. both rifles will set you back £200- £300 second hand. Ammo for the .222 is about 90p per round. Plus dont forget moderators. you have to say you need them for health and safety for your hearing and noise polution. Quote Link to post

Phantom 631
I've seen 17HMR and .223 litterally 'Unzip' a Fox, It is a shame they are pests really, I often see them round here, indeed one Dog Fox ran down the path before last xmas, between the queue of cars and my leg; Scarred the daylights out of me as I didn't expect it as he ran against my leg from behind me! As for whats best for them? I shot a kit on my cemetery perm a couple of years ago, before the kit flapped on the floor the Fox jumped out and grabbed my prize and legged it with it in his mush! I wouldn't have minded if he'd hung around long enough for me to get a pic! Last week I had a small bunny, a woody and a big old buck on my matt in the cemetery, I wandered over to the paddock to see what was happening over there for Woodworm and I later in the week. I came back to my sniping position and low and behold, the little bunny was gone!! I'm just glad it didn't pinch the Woody! So put simply a warm bunny along the Fox'es path will give you a second or so to plugh him/her in the noggin Tony Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,216
On a golf course, lines of sight and back stops could be really hard, so like said, i'd try lamping with a 12 gauge. Quote Link to post
