is my saluki a jacker?

Recommended Posts

14 miles is not bad riohog but they won't make big land dogs I'm afraid. The average nearest cover on the fens is around the 20 mile range and with your dogs only managing 40mph, the hares gonna straight line them. Your typical fen saluki type nowadays can do 40mph still in the slip and one animal, on it's 8th run, (7/7 btw) has been recorded with a gatso speed gun hitting an impressive 64mph, 42 minutes into the course a whopping 35 miles from the slipper. Unfortunately for the hare it was caught 6 miles short of the nearest cover. So you can see your dogs just haven't got it I'm afraid :D

As soon as I read this I knew you'd be waiting on me pmsl, c**t :D. That sounds a good fitness plan, I'd continue with the road work on the hotter days and use the treadmill through the night. Get some paraffin heaters to get the temperature up. The feeding, I'd replace the chappy with dried biscuit and limit there water supply. The deserts a dry harsh environment remember. Also I've heard you cuddle them a lot, physical contact must be kept to a minimum. :D

well its about 26deg c in my back hall now , ill give it another half hour , just let the tep get up a bit and ill get them out .need to feed them first couple of kilos of dried kibble . should keep them going , ive removed the water so as to make it more authentic , the arabs call them wind drinkers so should be enough moisture in the air to keep them going for an hour or two ..
