Lukehunt 15
ok lads basically im wondering if theres a website or something that will tell me the exact laws on what i can and cant hunt with my dog etc, i know rabbits and rats are legal, but say for example, if a farmer had a fox problem on his land and allowed me to hunt them with my dogs, would that be legal? or still illegal? same with deer? im just curious. Also as rats and rabbits are legal is that only on permission? so could would i get wrong if i was walking home with rabbits on a public footpath at night etc. ?? cheers lads Quote Link to post
RossM 8,121
Still illegal and permission is required. Quote Link to post

Gaz_1989 9,539
I don't know about the other lads but I've got a couple of permissions. And quite a few none permissions If ever I was stopped by police on way back from a non-permission with rabbits I would just say I'd been on my permission... Quote Link to post
P5HEN 168
what are the consequences? do they take vehicle/dogs off you? id rather do jail than lose my dog Quote Link to post
Gaz_1989 9,539
Consequences of what? Poaching? Or running illegal game? Quote Link to post
dpb82uk 138
if stoped on your way home from your permission it be good to have a copy of your written permission to show to the pig and depending on how much of a twat he/she might be thay might insist on checking with the land owner of your permission Quote Link to post
rob284 1,682
Even if u aint got any game on you. If they think u are running something illegal they can take your van and dog off you and hold it for weeks. Even with no evidence. Best with permission for rabbits near the area u are in. They seldom give you a choice,it would be nice if they offered you a list of suitable alternative punishments, stocks, keel hauling, bashed on the bare bottom with a bunch of thistles and nettles or even a night of oral passion with Anne Widdecombe, but in the real world if you takes your chances youve got to be prepared to take the consequence that ensue, good or bad. 1 Quote Link to post
