Recommended Posts

Several times mate, in various place, my favourite place is around Biscarosse in Aquataine, south of Bordeaux, plenty of freshwater lakes with beaches for swimming, great campsites and the beach isn't too far a drive.............

I have flown there in an hour but normally drive and spread it out over 2 days with a stop over. I always pre booked just to ensure there are spaces available

Les Ecureuils is a site i stayed at a couple of times, can't remember the names of the other sites off the top of my head........

try UKcampsite.co.uk, they have facility to search european campsites and reviews from people that have stayed there.

they've got a forum an all, never used it, but would imagine there will be some folk who have done just what your planning.

anyone done any camping in france ? hoping to go along the atlantic coast, any advice on good campsites and ferry crossings would be most welcome a.t.b sfa

We have been camping around Brittany a few times mostly around a town called fouestnant near the coast and near quimper

Even though its means a reasonable drive on the french side we cross on the ferry Dover calais as every time we have checked it has been a 3rd of the cost. 2 adults, 2 kids, 2 lurchers and a trailer for under 200 quid this summer. which would have been over 600 with one of the brittany ferries crossings (plymouth roscoff etc)
