Firstly, no one held a gun to anyone’s head and made them enter their dog!! The jump wasn't hidden and everyone was quite able to see the set up before entering their dog.

 

Also, hay was added as the jump progressed in height, no matter what anyone says it did break the fall compared to landing just on the ground. And proved to do the job as none of the dogs were injured. Possibly few tweaks may be added next year to improve but it would be a lot more beneficial to give constructive criticism (in the likes of a P.M) rather than starting a whole debate slagging and making dicks out of yourselves.

 

It was as good a show as any other, with a little extra variety added (enjoyed by all those there, regardless what anyone says on this). People seem to forget that a show is only ever going to be as good as the people who support them. The ''select few'' that make things awkward for others need to catch themselves on and grow up!!

The hay was not in sight in the first pictures .You jump head first onto a drop of hay spread on the hard ground There is a picture of one dog scaling the fence and another dog jumping towards the one scaling the fence what is that about? .In present times there is quite alot of people who are opposed to lurcher folk and their exploits this could only lead to bad publicity

 

I wouldn't call raising a dog safety/welfare issue 'making dicks out of yourselves'. How good would it have looked to spectators and members of the general public watching, if a dog was seriously injured during that event for want of a better thought out landing for them?

Simon and your son did have a civil discussion, and maybe Liam shouldn't be commenting on some of the threads if he is only 12? Not a dig, just an observation as many areas of the forum can be quite adult in content, we do have a good section for young hunters.

I would,nt put my dogs at risk with high jumping at shows,an unecessary risk just for a trophy.The best jumping test used to be the speed jumping [A show at Colne,Nelson? years ago used to put one on],the dog had to navigate several obstacles,wooden and wire fences,gates etc.nothing more than 4ft.The fastest dog to complete the circuit won,some friendly rivalry ensued and there was a long queue of entrants,it raised plenty of funds to boot.

None the less it was a super show, well done to the lads, Ian how many dogs turned up on the day, I lost count of the number of dogs on the ground, you have set very high standards regarding the quality of dogs that were on show, look forward to next year.

Yuo lot are like a bunch of FU•KING women shut the hell up about cheating and all that it's a bit of crack I would ent go cry about and get DNA tests about cheating and all dat if your dogs wat ever breeding and you know it is sure that's all you should care about please stop complaint about breeding a racing wise up and dry your eye's

Encouragr the young ones into thr sport yea I go with that 100%
