scothunter 12,609
Well after doing a bit of research I think it's over priced shite. Apparently they removed an ingridient, and the flea gets immune to the product. There's forum dedicated to this. Don't know about here, but in the states they ate paying for a private pest control to spray folks homes , cause its not working. I put a pippet on mine on sat and just seen a flea. Wxm 1,638
im sure its the same with wormers if you use the same 1 over and over they get immune to it :hmm:
Ratreeper 441
the stuff you buy at shops is shit, the stuff sold at vets (or online) is about 3X more expensive but has 3X the active ingredient so it works out the same but with less mess. I use it for the ferrets and it seems to do the trick, better than sprays
diggermad 154
i very rarely spray mine never really seen fleas on them saying that they all get cleaned every day and a full clean every 2 weeks so fingers crossed DM
marshman 7,757
Frontline of the counter is useless! I won't be getting it anymore. I might try that advocate stuff.
Kay 3,709
i have never used the frontline otc stuff , but a lot of folks neglect to also get rid of any fleas in the environment & think just doing the dog or whatevers enough , if there indoor dogs the whole house or at least the areas the dogs sleep should be trated as well with a suitable treatment
troter58 1,711
used frontline on all my dogs for years if done every 12 weeks it is good works on mine.think you need to do the beds with the spray to as kay said no good just putting a pipet on the dogs neck and the kennel or house is still got fleas atb
Moll. 1,770
Stronghold is better imo I think one problem is people do not read instructions carefully. Frontline wont work if your dogs get wet something like 24hrs prior too and after application. If your dogs are like mine they are always in either rain, long wet grass or streams daily. Don't matter with Stronghold.
Kay 3,709
the other thing to bare in mind with frontline drops or the spray is there not a '' repellent'' so they wont stop fleas waiting for a host to jump on, but providing the animals had frontline administered it will kill any fleas that do jump on the animal
scothunter 12,609
Ah cheers guys. Think the prob lies with a bird best box I gave at my front door. Bumblebees have taken it over, but I looked the other day Abd noticed fleas at the entrance hole. The blue tits left a lot of moss and nesting before the bees invaded. I would launch the f*****g thing, but I don't want to mess with the bees.

Duct tape a bin bag over it first, then rag it down and launch it That explains a lot if Frontline isn't the same as it used to be ........... I've done my Wheaten twice in the last few weeks, and he's still scratching like mad It's deffo fleas. It was a right arse trying to keep him dry for 48 hours when it was pissing down outside. Will try that stronghold instead I reckon.
