darkdd81 36
Hi all, Thanks for all the posts on this subject. I am very pleased to report that i have had a breakthrough with the HW. I bought myself some AA fields (not sure what head diameter) and some RWS superfields in 4.51mm. Went down the range tuesday with new pellets in hand praying for a change. I drew out 7 small circles on a piece of cardboard with the plan to do 4 shot groups on each. I pumped the gun up to 200 bar, and started the groups from the first shot. I was blown away with the accuracy, after shooting two full mags (4 shot groups on 7 targets totals the two mags a 14 shots a piece) i did not have a single flyer. I was shooting at a lazed 30yards indoors off the bipod, and all 7 groups were smaller than a 5p. With the success of that session fresh in my mind, yesterday i ventured down to one of my other warehouse that i can shoot at alot longer range. See attached photo Sorry for the poor photo, as it was taken on my blackberry. Now in these photos, i shot off the bipod indoors with AA fields with a 30m yard zero (all ranges were lazed). Shot at 8mag for 30 and 40 yards and 10mag for 70 yards. All the black circles are 5p size. First group is (bottom left) is @30 yards 4shots through the same hole, then 2 slightly either side. Second Group (top left) is @40 yards. 5 shot string with 1 shot outside that magic 5p size. This was not a flyer as i new i had pulled the shot. Third group (bottom right was @50 yards but all 6 shots landed of the paper because of the way i had it mounted it, so none can be seen in this photo ( i was in a rush after work!!!) This is what really impressed me. Fourth group (top right) is at @70 yards. All shots landed close to the lower target, with the drop being around 7-8inchs. the group size is smaller than a 10p.I placed one next to it so you get the scale. So it seems i was paniking over nothing. I am made up with how accurate this gun is now i have found some ammo that works well in it, and I fully expect to be able to improve on those groups as the hw settles in and my skills improve. Of to the golf course tomorrow! Good shooting all. Deri (P.s still haven't tryed the superfields yet) Quote Link to post
