"a good fox Lurcher should grab a fleeing fox by the brush, let go again the moment the fox retaliate and take the throat hold needed to end matters quickly"

Thats quite a bizare way for a dog to take a fox, wonder if it works

Skycat you werent being serious when you wrote that surely?

Just to make things clear I quoted that from the topic starters opening post, I have never read or have any intentions of reading the cmw.

I've stayed away from this thread, not wanting to add fuel to a blithering fire, but the quote is incorrect. I never said a dog SHOULD take a fox blah blah. I would never say how a dog should take fo

I got a good recipe for flapjacks out of the CMW once, if anyone wants it PM me for details..........................

I agree completely mate. If a dog isnt right penny will spot it and put it right. The knuckle dragging prick who started this thread and the last one very often "advises" people to either cull or dump

TBH never worked out how so many make training a lurcher so hard to have whole books written on subject let alone articles ever week.

This criticism is not of the lady but a general comment same as here how many times does the same old story recurring.

Lads, I wasn't on when this got taken down but I've just a read through it and having a difference of opinion is one thing, but the thread strayed over the line into personal abuse and that ain't on. Fair enough you don't agree with what has been written by someone, but the minute you go down the personal insults route the threads will start disappearing. Keep it constructive and try and get your points across without abusing people.

Could the relevant comments of "personal abuse" not have been taken off rather than the entire thread?

I think there were valid points and I tried to make them myself on the whole questioning what was in the article And simply questioned weather what was written were accurate and fair from 2 separate Lurcher people.

Just to clear up..

I hid the thread with a view to editing it because it had been reported and a few had started to stoop to daft name calling and insults.. I was the only mod on, didn't have much time, and wanted to save the thread before it had gone too far to edit. I meant to inform the other mods of my intentions but had to leave the computer before I was able too.

Sorry for any inconvenience caused..

All the knights in shining armour who come to the rescue :bad: The lady is quite capable of speaking for herself and fighting her own corner.

Aw, don't stop them M. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy :icon_redface::laugh:

Gotta take the rough with the smooth in this game. Bit like life in a goldfish bowl. I've thought of quitting many a time, but being a stubborn old thing has its advantages in most walks of life. Besides which, being on here gives me no end of ideas for articles :tongue2:

It’s all getting a little carried away, Penny wrote an article and someone thought it rubbish, Penny answered. If twits started slagging then there just twits and I’m sure the sensible majority would have just thought what twits. I know Penny is happy to answer queries or people who disagree with her. I’ve disagreed with her in the past and expect will do so in the future but none the less believe she’s a genuine sort with a wealth of knowledge.

As to the CMW, I’ve done a few articles and I’m amazed how people manage to keep finding stuff to write but I’m glad they do as it’s often the first point of contact that many young field sports fans of the future have. The CMW and THL are the public face of our sports after all.

That's one option mate and the thread has been hidden rather than deleted so maybe that was the moderator's intention. It's common to hide something whilst it's tidied up. How about I speak to the moderator concerned and then have a crack at that and then merge the two topics?

your a good man thank you. Edited by baldockbanks courser
