How do i make my 7 month old lurcher wanna run ?

Hello i am new to the site, i have a lurcher "jack" he is pretty good dog does as hes told, he show lots of intresed in rabbits when he see's one he will jump fences etc but he does seem like he wonts to put his ears back and run ? But when we was out with his sister he really run fast after a rabbit with her is it just a case of him being young or need to take him out with other dogs etc ?

 

Any help i would be grateful

Time is good thing give just small runs not game and u Billding him up most dogs are a one man show think u are slowing your dogs ability to give u more buy letting some one else out mate u should be alfa male

How is your pup bred?My whippet pup is the same age,its hard but you have to enter them when ready.

just work on your bond with the pup and taining through the summer and get it into some gradual work come autumn. there is no rush, you could easily ruin that pup if you push it too young

i would just take it out and about with me when your out walking about it will learn about sent and obsticals it will discover its own game eventualy and do it naturaly it will then be time to go out show it other dogs working then on your own find it a far out in the field rabbit hopefully about six month would have past and if you lucky it might find a bit of mixi in the inbertween time
