Look at this: Fast forward to 7.23 and watch the 45 and 50 metres shots with a FX 16 pellet. All the rest is boring and it was early in my video editing career. Si. Quote Link to post
Elliott 436
Some good shooting there Si. I've never tried FX pellets so might give them whirl at some point. Are they similar to the JSB's or different altogether? Quote Link to post

zini 1,939
Almost like a JSB , AA, RWS Super Field ect but now as proven by trial and error they fly differently mate but were loved as you seen in my HW100 KT. Si. Quote Link to post

It's worked out nicely as I'm off work for a week after this week. Will Probably have put 1000 through it in the first week. Will have to fill both my cylinders up I think. In preparation for it's arrival. Lol Quote Link to post
paulk73 151
Well il be off out with the old 100 t for the last time before Friday, hopefully get a squirrel or 2. Obviously a lot harder this time of year, with the foliage and stuff. But I got one last week with a cracking shot. I walked through the little mixed wood on my permission, after being sat around in my little hide for an hour, and found a load of scrapings in the leaf litter, where the buggers had been rooting about. So I decided to sit it out for a while and see what turned up. I got under a little scotch pine sapling, just to use the uppermost branches to break up my outline from any prying eyes above. I waited about 20 mins, then I heard little claws on bark. I looked around and saw a squirrel running along a big bough of a massive old ash tree. Only for it to dissapear behind the trunk. I thought that was the last I'd see of him, but I gave a couple of clicks with my Tongue, and he popped his head round the trunk on the branch above. I could only see his head, and could only imagine his tail swishing furiously behind the great bulk of the tree. He knew I was there, well he knew something was there. He was looking for me! I slowly brought the rifle up, trying to be as smooth as I possibly could. He was still sat there in the same place. I'm sure he saw the movement, but wasn't sure what to make of it, with the cammo and the face veil and gloves. I adjusted my aim slightly for the elevation, and distance estimated at about 22 Mtrs. I urged the superfield on it's way after taking up the first stage on the trigger. The pellet impacted with what seemed like a massive crack. And the little fella was earth bound. He landed on the woodland floor in the leaves and twigs and stretched out one last time. No fuss no pain or suffering. The little wood was completely silent. Just then a Jay glided in and landed on a beach tree, closely followed by a pair of great tits. The Jay hopped from branch to branch. Not making a sound. Not squawking and screaming like the last one a couple of months ago, that payed a heavy price for all the commotion. The great tits seemed engrossed. Probably because they had been trying to fend it off from stealing Thier eggs. I left the Jay alone and sat in the silence for perhaps a minute, till the little wood regained normality. With the birds calling to each other. And the rooks in the canopy began landing again. Then I heard a squirrel calling off to my left. Or was it a young rook in the nest calling to a returning parent. I waited a little while longer, to see if any more would appear where I was. I could still hear the intermittent calling of the squirrel/rook, so I slowly made my way in the direction of the noise. Using the trees as cover and moving from one to another. Until I reached the lawn. I looked across to the other trees, and saw two more squirrels chasing each other round. These trees where above a public footpath that runs through the property, so a shot was out of the question. I called it a day, and went to pick up the the squirrel. It was a young male. And the shot placement was perfect. It went in just under the eye, and the angle took it straight through the brain, causing instantaneous shut down. Only the one squirrel, but it's one less to wreck havoc in the roof space. The owner was happy, and so was I. I would rather have 1 clean kill than a big bag any day. To me it's not about numbers, it's just about being out, and being there. 1 Quote Link to post
stealthy1 3,964
I was once told by an old boy that shooting is just an excuse to be out in the countryside doing something, perhaps he's right, becuase if I ran out of qurry, I would still shoot targets Quote Link to post
