Phantom 631
It would be a fairly quiet section in here if we didn't. Whats the school project about? Tony Quote Link to post
Avishkar the Sniper 0
its about an air gun energy weight and velocity calculator. you can see it at energycalculator.weebly.com Quote Link to post
Phantom 631
Interesting, you got the math correct, Nice one. But as for the energy needed for the rabbit, the general consensus is that it's less than 6. I have put down rabbits (brain shot) with as little as my HW70, thats putting out less than 1 ft/lbs. Used to take it with me to finish off woundings until I was taught how to neck them properly The boffins in the white coat's claimed 0.4 ft/lbs is enough energy to shut down the brain on a bunny. May be a good idea to change font colour for something a little more contrasty as well I had to strain to read the text. Tony Quote Link to post
milegajo 595
I hear certain airguns can deliver 100 ft/lbs plus if thrown correctly. SMKs are good for that form of hunting. You have to have excellent stalking skills. I gave up hunting with airguns that way as it was too messy despite being spectacular. Now I use them to launch projectiles. 'Pellets'. Some are quite good at it too. Got a far better success rate using my tx200 that way...only draw back is instead of just picking it up I have to fiddle about with cocking-loading-safety catches-triggers-sights-ammo... Far simpler the old fashioned way, but hey, gotta keep with the times... Edited May 26, 2012 by milegajo Quote Link to post
stealthy1 3,964
We need someone to vote no, or its not fair Quote Link to post
Mooch. 177
It is a bit of a daft question to ask on an air rifle hunting forum but I'm guessing as it's a school project he needs to do research and collect data. Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
I hunt using an airgun, not with one. Who the heck do you think I am? Sledge Hammer? Quote Link to post
Lewis Ste 245
Why don't you post this in general discussion? Quote Link to post
robwelsh 354
There's no point putting it on here, tescos where you'd get people from all walks of life..but on a hunting forum, on the airgun section ..in the airgun hunting bit ...lmao Quote Link to post
