midnight 657
small pillot hole get the tang tip red hot and force it in , it will burn the perfect hole , just dont let the blade get to hot or hot at all it will ruin the temper , i hold mine in cold tap water as a heat sink and just heat the tang . then when your happy apoxi it (araldite rapid), the tricky bit is going to get the handle to line up with blade profile , i have spent hours and hours looking at that knife and wondering how to do it , and what material will suit it . for a long time i did think antler with brass guard . because its very old steel in it (the oldest file i have ever used) and its patina it has a brilliant antique quality to it so something along thos lines might work ? worth taking your time over this one i recon , get all the sexy materials in and study them so you squeeze all the best from them , your well up to the chalinge of this one now tho . good luck .

jjbull 38
a good technique a have seen on another forum for stick tangs was to cut a slot in some dowel to fit over the tang, then al you have to do is drill your hole in the handle material and slide it all in with a little epoxy, i havent tried it yet but i am going to try it on my next knife
midnight 657
if your apoxi fails tho your knife will come apart . you still need a close tolerance and burning in has work for 3,000 years ! burning will work on horn/antler to !

GruffaloGriff 1,859
If the tang is long enough you can put it right through the handle and use the projecting few milimeters to rivit on an end cap. A piece of brass works well, esy to file/ sand to shape and can be cut from an old door hinge or other piece of scrap. I have made end caps with old coins, a Canadian bever, an American eagle or a silver sixpence make an intresting and unique end to a handle.
