when some talks about workin terriers what does spanable mean?? PM me if prefered.

 

i've never been in to terriers and only had 1 or 2 and only ever bushed, so digging terms i aint got a clue.

The only time I read off spanning a terrier is on this site. Then there's dog shows/game fairs etc were judges would span terriers !!! Ive never seen a Terrier being spanned by someone in a persons yard or in the field for that matter??? So I'd love somebody to explain to me what that's all about.

Mudd is right its just a guide to a judge at a show to give him/her an idea on the size of a dogs chest in the feild the dog either fits down or it gets stuck in the den.
