but theres two type a dog that is not right and it stops and a dog that carnt do the job its bred for so sometimes you have to step back and look at the dog

I don't suppose it matters much if you breed from a jacket or not depending on the circumstances. Obviously if it picks it's runs then no but if it jacks cos it's been run into the ground then that's different. The reason I say it doesn't matter is because a lot of dogs are getting bred that are relatively untried. How can you tell if a 2 or 3 year old wouldn't jack after a couple of hard seasons?

But there is another way of looking at it if a 3 year old dog or bitch was bred well and early on in its carreer you knew that animal had it all then I can t see a problem with breeding from it .....as a lot of dogs especialy the committed types and there owners are realy puting the graft in front of them do not make it too old age ....infact alot dont make it to there 3rd or 4th birthday ....but imo you have to be 100% with yourself and this applys for lurchers and terriers .
