Ideation, now looking over it it does look like one, what i mean is more versatile like you said and also best suited to a more hard working envioronment where determination is required. Not slating the first cross in any way though

I wasn't meaning to be a knob matey, it's just 'better' is a funny word, better at what? in what sense? and on what land etc? lso it's a lot down to the dog, the breeding and the owner.

In theory i would guess that a decent collie/whip/grey would be more versatile than a straight collie / whip, as it would stand a bit taller, and have that bit more running dog (and it being grey) in it to give it more pace, especially top end.

If i was looking for a lamp dog i'd def pick the collie/whip/grey if bred right, and probably for day work as well, although i do think for the kind of ferreting i do, a small, nippy, collie/whip might be spot on.

Surely how it bred will also matter are you on about 1/2 collie x whippet/grey or collie/whippet x 1/2 grey? It might make a big difference on size

In which order would you breed them. I'm just guessing but I would think you could get different outcomes depending on the order. If it was Grey x Collie X Whippet, I would guess it to be smaller than a Whippet x Collie X Grey. Some one with experience in both directions would be really helpfull right now.

No worries mate  Well basicly for a bit of lamping, ferreting and daytime mooching. On different terrain, maybe a stubble field one day and then a grassy field the next, also woodland where smell is really needed
