robwelsh 354
Ye but it doesn't always work that way lol is it a spring gun? Aa pellets are softer so probably expand better in the bore Quote Link to post

Phantom 631
Hiya Frank, Pellets can either up or down the power a fair whack. Chronoed my S200 the other day. This is the average data that it returned: Bisley Magnums 21grain @ 11.50 ft/lbs (max was 11.76) Crosman Premier Ultra Magnums 14.30grain @ 10.25 ft/lbs RWS SuperFields 15.9 grain @ 10.87 ft/lbs RWS Hobbies 11.90 grain @ 9.50 ft/lbs Now the really interesting thing was that Air Arms Fields at 15.9 grain used to give me 10.50 ft/lbs, despite being the same weight as the RWS SF's. Thus proving that it's not just the weight of the pellet but the combination of weight and shape of the pellet that makes up the count I shall; before I go out run the same pellets through my springer for you and add the data later Tony Quote Link to post
Phantom 631
Hi again Frank, Just put the following through my springer XS19 Hobbies 11.9 grain running @ 9.92 ft/lbs Crosman Prem Ultra Mags14:3 grain @ 10.08 Superfields 15.9 grain @ 10.29 Bisley Magnums 21 grain @ 8.54 Tony Quote Link to post
Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
tony what chrono do you use? i have a combro 425 thingy whatever ya call it.. but to be honest its too fiddly and a pain in the backside lol. also on the springer will the recoil affect the readings slightly.. i was thinking about an F1 chrony or something similar but read a few revies online about poor lighting not giving readings and the muzzle blast affecting it also, so having to hold muzzle a few inches further away.. and the sensors only having a 3inch window for the pellet to travel through for a decent reading. if you understand that lol dont really want to spend another 100-130quid but needs must and its quite an important bit of kit to have.. and i seriously dont trust my combro last thing i want is an over-the-limit rifle if i get hassled by the police.
