Turkish you seem to find it hard to follow this thread, not to mind understand what can go on underground.   Myself, Fatman, Neil , Corkonian, Corkman, Shylock and Smasher all saw the dog working f

so he was fine till then, new owner and had the fox incident, back to old owner and fine again?

Seems that's what happened.Bryan had 16 digs to the dog afterwards, some tricky ones aswell and I have no reason to doubt the man as I seen this dog work plenty of times without fault. His only fault that I could see with him was his size as some earths it took longer for him to reach his game.I cant say the dog did not come away as I was not present when it happened with its new owner so cant say what took place and have no reason to disbelieve the man either, every dog has an off day and anyone that says different is a liar.

fatman just a question. do you think its possible for this dog in question to quit on a fox. as you say in your own words every dog has off day.and is it possible that was his off day.????? ive no doubt he waa decent dog wit decent digs to him. im only asking your opinion. thanks pal.

I had enough dogs about me as had my diging mate, actually 1 of the lads made an attempt to buy the pickaxe bred bitch but had not all the money at once so tha man that had her said he wanted it all in 1 and wanted to sell all 3 together so that put a damper on the other lad buying her as he at the time was not working and money was tight. We had gave him 4-5 years of good diging every wknd imo the dogs should have been gifted as he did not need the cash as he had a very good job but he asked us £1000 for them.If I was quiting the game I would give my terriers to my diging mates without question.

Turkish If he reached the fox then no I could not honestly see a fox get past him and I also could not see this dog walk and that's goin on what I had seen of him on other digs.We have a black dog here {BARNEY} that 2 seasons ago went to ground on the side of a hill. The b&f said 2.3 so we started a dig. With about 18in left on the dig the dog came out,we were gutted as it was not easy diging.I checked the dog and he had taken very little and was only about 1 hour 40 min to ground. Now a lot of lads would have said Barney came away and that's exactly what we were thinking.I then decided to go the last 18in and see was it a stopend.I broke through to find a dog fox dead, dog had done his job,but how many would have said he quit and maybe done the wrong thing with Barney. This same dog has done this several times since but we now know what hes about. No one can say what happens under the sod.Fair enough the fox got out of the earth but did it bolt, did Freckles come out 1st,a question that has not been asked,if he did then yes he quit but if fox bolted 1st then no he did,nt,jmho.KM phoned me before the 3 dogs were purchased,he asked what they were like and I told him and still stand by what I told him as I had no reason to spoof or fcuk him about what happened afterwards is nothing to do with me.
