And he doesn`t say all this when out with a Hancock dog, only when he goes home and gets on the PC He likes my dog but it sticks in his craw to say it, ! hahahahahaha Quote Link to post

BLACKWATER... 157 Posted May 22, 2012 Report Share Posted May 22, 2012 one died at three other gave away at six to a good home , both were alrite on rabbs but not much cope on anything else back then , she was a very good rabbit dog fox odd hare , but most dogs can catch a rabbit etc, its all the other quirks that i like in my own collie type natural fetchers, jumper , pacey good wind not to hyper , good strikers home bred are far streaks ahead than my hancock was and easier to lve with not chewers etc the beardie type was hardy and a good dog but time moves on and so does the dogs etc as they say , for the better , for me , mines was adecent animal but saw lots in the eighties ninteis poor specimens for runing dogs ,saw better and moved on Quote Link to post
kimbokenneth 12 Posted May 23, 2012 Report Share Posted May 23, 2012 i got two hancock dogs !!! 1 pup from kubla 3/4 grey 1/4 collie... he was very slow learner to lamping!!!! about 7 months of lamping [bANNED TEXT] i was pleased with him. now he is spot on !! and my other is a tweedledum dog, 5/8 grey 3/8 collie.. he was an instant sucssess,,,i had 12 rabbits with him on his 3rd night out lamping.... febuary just gon i had 4 big ears with him!!!! over all i like wat ive had of hancock.....all dogs are born to chase and hunt, its just how u introduce them to the game . and the right age.... my both dogs were shown rabbit skins from an earley age.... and introduced to the lamp at 10 1/2 months !!!!!! hope that helps, Quote Link to post
Mickey Finn 3,007 Posted May 23, 2012 Report Share Posted May 23, 2012 (edited) I like my Hancock so far. He's a big strong pup at 28", and 70#. He was sired by John-dog, and has the coat to show for it. He did seem to pick up on lamping right away. He'll enter the water for retrieves, and seems biddable in general. But otherwise, I don't have a lot to compare him to. I'll know more in a year or two. Still, I think he's a fair dog for the price. Certainly no trouble to keep.
