Guest freestate hunter cfc
as the rabbit is going to a hedgerow, gate or any opstical when the lamp gets shook from side to side it puts the rabbit of were its meant to go very affective on moonless nights. Quote Link to post

Might sound daft but does this not put the dog off as well? Quote Link to post
Guest freestate hunter cfc
not at all,you keep the lamp on the rabbit at all times it has never put any of our dogs of,you only shake it while the rabbit is very near an opstical it works all the time. Quote Link to post

TOMO 26,005
i have to say , those that say it works all the time are talking SHITE, does it feck. the truth is it works somtimes, but its very dificult to get a comparson as each rabbit is diffrent. if you succecfully turn a rabbit and is cought. you wouldnt know that if you didnt shake the light weather it would get cought Quote Link to post

Guest joe ox
Its just a tactic worth using doesnt always work, ive found switching the lamp of for a second sometimes works, makes the bigger stuff bounce instead of jump Quote Link to post
Rabbithunter 456
keeps them off the dyke's, often bouncing themselves back. As jo ox says, it bounces bigger stuff right back off the fence as they jump aswell. This is how i caught the first bigger animal when i was out on my own. just before it jumped, it got a shake of the lamp, hit the fence and bounced right back into the dogs mouth Some may find it un-sporting, but it keeps the freezer full Edited May 18, 2007 by Rabbithunter Quote Link to post
Guest Ditch_Shitter
I was out with a mate one night. He shook the lamp and flicked it on and off. Sure enough, this red one hit the barbed wire and came springing back in a right mess. Only trouble was; It was his red Saluki! Never caught the f*cking rabbit either. That just went straight under the fence and away. Quote Link to post
jonathan 0
lads from this post you can tell what people do go lamping and theres people what just talk about it as well also when lamping rabbits if they are lamp shy try get in between the rabbit and the hadge where it is going to run so on a dark and windy night just walk to where you think the rabbits will go and turn the lamp on and hold it too the side of the rabbit so you can just see the eyes glow and you should no what else to do Quote Link to post
