KittleRox 2,147
All that talk as nothing to do with running hares in Ireland.Tell me your fast up and at them do you slip straight out off the bed???? or do you have to wait till they get up real close???? what you need is the right mix, a dog which is very quick off the mark , fast up and at them if you like but the dog also needs to sustain this pace when the slips are in the quarrys favour, the best dog I,ve seen round these parts for getting on terms quickly is a sal/grew 25tts, Link to post
SMART DOG 340
In the passed 20 years, i have heard a few tales of saluki saturated dogs coming over from the uk to here in Ireland, big money being payed, only for them to find out, they could hardly catch a thing!! If their is any saluki saturated dogs out their lads, or even, pure salukis, catching regular with evidence, i would love to see it, here in Ireland. SO WOULD I the land round county Durham is similar to that in ireland and theres plenty of saluki saturated dogs kill round here without much problem and these hares get run very regular Link to post

brookie 1,193
You can't put speed into a dog by running it on different terrain backwater. That's like me saying, maybe my speedbomb with gain stamina if it runs er big land. It works both ways but it sounds good and is used constantly by big land plodder owners. I'm not slating the plodders, they are the best for their chosen area but let's not pretend they are masters at all terrain but chose not too. what would you class as a plodder what lines have you run .youve done plenty of coursing by the look of your posts .youve seen a few salukis run which lines and where did you see em run Link to post
