The longer the course the better the dog, why??(Ireland)

The hares are a diffrent breed :hmm::yes:

I have often not agreed with some of the things ye have said in the passed Speedie, but this statement above you made, i agree with and its true, the irish hare, is nothing like the scottish mountain hare, its far more stronger and bigger. Its a breed on its own. Also, the irish hare, can cross breed with the brown hare, as its mainly happening in the north of Ireland. The Irish hare, is very closely related to the brown.

Im fairly certain they cant breed ,i think they are the same as the hares in scotland,im also fairly sure that coursing hares in ireland is illegal except under rules with greyhounds so maybe ,be wide to what yere saying.

A half fit Beagle will trail along behind a Hare for hours, doesn't mean their good coursing dogs though.....

An 11 minute run by a running dog shows impressive stamina/fitness levels but if it's not got control of the Hare then surely it's trailing not coursing???

Im not geting into a slagging match but you asked a question good man as you said you dont always agree with me thats fair enough i dont always agree with alot of people. Now i will say again i have never seen a dog with half or more saluki in it be able to do the job over here .I have hunted with most of the top men in ireland over the last 30 years and seen all their dogs run. Some of these dogs with all the saluki could run in some places we hunted but it was down to the slip and the land we were on .Maybe im reading this question wrong but when i say i never seen one of these dogs that could do it i mean in small fields in diffrent parts of ireland their is places in ireland that yea could run a pure saluki but most of the places they would get lost

Good bitch that geoff that bitch running that speed cause she knows she gettin to it as I've said many times good dogs run them anywhere if that bitch over in ire couple outings she find her feet I've had many eng dogs over in ire couple outings if they good they adapt i run both countrys a couple times over in eng with good breeding they learn to run to suit the ground there on seen lota irish dogs in tight land in eng gear up be very tight put lota pressure on once quarry goes to heedge or dyke dog strikes cuz its smart enough to know wat its chasing is slowing down. Then I've seen irish dogs on opeen fen go fast into them soon as turn put in slow down to adapt to hare speed then use there ability but all boils down to if there good enough good dogs do this.

gorger where do you prefer to run ireland or england
