Speedie do you not think that that bitch if run in lreland few times she would not change the way she runs to kill the hares?????

your absolutely right icey .heres an example. the luke dog in the lucky set .the red dog .hes only ever ran big fen land and a very good dog hes been as well .regular four and five dog .hes now down here in wales he took about a month to adpt to the small land .he now hardly evr misses. he pulls em in sits in behind feints his hare and its all over .and such is his experience and these down here being not of the quality of a fen hare .he does do em that easy

Just a question brookie why would yea put up a course like that on this topic ? Its about running hares in ireland its totally diffrent the hares a faster and tricker .Not running down that bitch she sure is a good one but dont think she would get away with that style over here .

speedie no offence mate .but you aint got a clue .if that stuuff you keep can kill over there then trust me she would run riot over there .you constantly slate our dogs and shout about filming dogs .yet you put clips up of your dogs being dragged all over the place and not stopping one hare .and the time you come to england on the land your slating .you pull up in a van with the dogs name painted all over it and the dog f*****g jacks .you take it back home breed from it and argue the toss all day every day about how good it is .yes theres very good dogs in ieland .lucas being with out doubt the best of them proven both sides of the pond but those hares you run on those small fields aint no match for fen hares mate ..

im not a fan of whippet greys but in fairness they would kill hares where these big stamina dogs would fail to put a bend in a hare, and its the same with the saluki types they would kill hares where the whippet greys and types would just blow out.. so again i think its horses for courses, iv yet to see a dog master both real big land and real small land, i got a bitch back from england about 10 years ago from my uncle and she was a very good bitch in eng killilg 2 and 3 week in and week out and she just couldnt control a hare in ireland, i also gave him a bitch she was deerhound greyhound back to saluki greyhound and if she didnt kill a hare in england in 2 to 3 minutes she would blow out so again there are horses for courses..

No offence mate maybe you might put up a clip of yer own dogs as i asked alot of people on here and we can all see where yous people that know everything are coming from.Icey if you ask a question and dont get the answer yea like yea start talking shit then whats that about .Now lads as i said i never seen one come over that i would say was a real top dog over here maybe other people have but not me .By the way the man that owned the bitch in the clip came over to speak to me when i was in england and dident share alot of peoples opinion on here .Like everything hes not a very well liked man but i thought he was a gentleman i also thought lucky was the best of any of the dogs i seen on tape :bad:

I've seen some fine Whippet/Greys running on the fens, and its true, they just can't stay with a good hare. Speed wise, for the first couple of hundred yards they can be all over a hare, right on top of it, but fen hares seem to be born educated, and the best just don't die in less than at least 3 minutes unless they make a mistake, trip over etc.

The problem with videos is that the action seems sometimes slower than in reality, and you also don't see just how hard that bitch in the vid is working to keep the hare in the field: but then again, unless the viewer actually understands what they are watching, has seen a lot of dogs running on the fens, you can't really see what is happening between the dog and the hare: the way the dog is constantly reading the hare, laying off when its running in the direction the dog wants it to go, pumping hard to turn the hare away from where it is trying to get to.

That was a fantastic run

i agree it was a brillant run but the topic is about coursing dogs in ire and long runs and i have never seen a 6 minute run and not to many boys on here have either as said before 3 to 4 mins in ire is classed a a goodun.i wish i had a dog that could get me a few runs like that for next season but then im easy pleased.

As topic about ire runs sadly each week we out your lucky if you see 2 long runs I mean get to watch most of run we might get 6 to 10 runs but only get 2 long runs I find they kilt quicker in ire grass land while on seed you diff get better run unfortnatly hares don't move on to seed till bucking time late jan to season ends unless you go carlow but once again going thin on ground there. This is reason myself I'm sure templeking louth tiger agree I go across pond to get better run plus more runs and most importantly see all the runs on seed land.
