the grey squirrel ?

Peanut butter as Tony said, also you can make a feeding station for them. Like a bird box but with a hinge lid then cheepo cornflakes and unsalted peanuts, if you have a animal feed store near you they will sell branflakes in big bags. Put the feeder up in a tree where you know they are, then watch. They will have a "dinner time" and they will return at around the same time.

I've always found on my perm which is riddled with squizers that the best time of day to shoot them is all day from sunrise up untill about 7pm when they disappear back to their beds for the night, although that's just my perm and the fact there is alot of them there!

At this time of year I find the nice lazy afternoons followed by the evenings the best time to have ago at the tree rats.

As for baiting them in its a bit hit and miss if theres loads of natural food lying around.

ive just got in from my plinking session down at my permission.

seen about 6-7 sqwizzzys but they were off like rockets!! there really shy down there and if they see you there straight into the holes in the trees no messing around.

i might try that penut butter thing and maybe the feeder idea aswell ;)

managed to get one shot off at about 35yds but i hit the branch under its head :icon_redface:

dont think theres that many there though, and seen owls there before aswell.. plenty of little songbirds down there so they must be doing all right for themselves

found a dead rook tho havent got a clue how it got there, a lot of its feathers wer missing.. hope nobody else has been shooting down there im the only person with permission..

, and the crow i shot fri evening was still in the same place so no foxs must have been around..?

sqiurrels like the sunshine and are creatures of habbit, a pile of wild bird food or peanuts will soon encourage a routine if done at the same time daily. and help the local bird life aswell
