Millet 4,497
It look's good enough to me and if you do find any problem's with it somwhere down the line i'm sure it can be easily altered or fixed.. .. one thing i would of done different though Gareth is set the kennel and run on 2 coarse of concrete block's with drain holes where the water will run..that would also give you a bit of extra height and also get the entrance to the sleeping area above ground.. . 4 Quote Link to post
paulus 26
i made something simular when the old bitch was in pup for when she whelped, dont use it anymore as you can see from the junk thats appeared in it its 10 x 4 with an internal sleeping area with a raised bed board, the back is 7 foot 6 high and the front is 6ft 6, looking at the pictures it could do with a coat of sadolin. freelance 448
As all above have stated a decent little set up there mate, at least you put your hand in your pocket and spent the best coin you could. Over the years i have seen some right shanty town set ups for kennels that wouldn't of kept a rat in let alone my best jukel, so fair play to you fella Atb 6 Quote Link to post
Gaz_1989 9,539
Thanks for the decent replies. Stabba - none of mine are chewers or try to escape but I will replace the mesh for piece of mind. Millet - I like that idea mate, raising it up on concrete blocks. definitely going to look into that. Paulus - What type of mesh is that in the photo? It looks ideal. Freelance - Thanks mate. I just wanted the best I could afford for my dogs. £400 was over my budget but I dont mind tightening my belt for a month or 2 if it means they've got somewhere decent to sleep. I shopped around and it was the biggest and most suitable I could find for anywhere near that money. Some were £600-£800 plus I think a lot of my dogs and it was a hard decision moving them from the house to a kennel but it was the best decision for them and the family so when some muppet comes along and compares what I thought was a decent set up to a ferret hutch it boiled my piss. all the best lads Gaz 4 Quote Link to post

Gaz_1989 9,539
some divs on here..canny little setup mate just the job Cheers pal. In an ideal world I would have a 20 x 6 with kennel at each end but simply havent got the room or money. They get walked/jogged twice a day aswell as time in the garden when we let them out for a fuss etc. They aren't stuck in there 24/7. All the best. Gaz Quote Link to post
running addiction 207
they dont need a massive kennel mate aslong as they warm, walked and well fed they happy Quote Link to post
paulus 26
ive got 2 large kennels and runs now mate and to be honest just takes up space, the run doors are never shut unless im not here, as has been said its not the size or cost of the kennel that matters its looking after the dogs other needs at the end of the day they are only going to sleep in it Quote Link to post
Gaz_1989 9,539
Cheers lads Quote Link to post
ci5 9
well done on the set up,some are a bit shy when it comes to putting their hands in there pockets,so good on you,as for the one idiot knocking it theres allways one,and just lately it seems to be him,a few blokes have come up with the same name for who it is and if its true then its no suprise.
