The new toy has arrived!

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Picked up my new toy today. It's the HW100T .177 topped with a Hawke sidewinder 3-12 x 50 and deben tilt bipod. Had a brief chance to do a little range work, and i'm really impressed so far. Only managed to get about 60 shots down range. Had it zero'd in around 10 shots (AA Fields), then printing 5p groups straight away at 40y. Opened the range up to 50y, and coming from a .22 was amazed at how little drop there was. My friend was shooting his s410k in .22 and at 50y, his groups were dropping around 8", where as the HW100 in .177 was dropping just over 2". (from a 30y zero). I really can't wait to get thing thing in the field.

Any one got any tips regarding the HW, pellet types etc.....

Love to hear some feedback!

Thanks guys, and good shooting.

ah Milegajo!!

Cheers buddy. Hey, if we can sort it out, your more than welcome to have a try. It's a bit strange using a springer for all these years, then learning to shoot a pcp. From all the respected people on this forum using them like Si Patterway and the like, i guessed the HW must be pretty good. I see from your forum posts that you seem to like your S200, do just want to go the multi shot route?

Good shooting.

Hi Davyt63

It was'nt at a range as such. I'm a transport manager by trade, so i'm lucky enough to have access to 4 large warehouses that my boss lets me shoot in (out of hours obviously!!!). My previous posts shooting the tx200 were in the smaller warehouse of the 4 which is 32y at the widest point, but as i know i would want to stretch out the hw100, i went to one of he bigger ones.

I do believe there is club in Lydney, which is pretty close, but i don't know if they have an indoor range.

Good shooting

Morning all

Managed to get at for a hour or so on my nearest permission last night. Managed to bag a single woody. i know alot of people talk about the weight of the hw, but i found it quite reassuring in a strange way.

Good shooting all.

Thanks secretagentmole.

I'm thinking of getting one of those aluminium cylinders to get a larger shot count. My question is, with the currant cylinder, I charge to 200 bar then shoot till it drops to 90. If you were to have a spare cylinder already charged to 200 bar as a spare, if you removed the low cylinder at 90 bar, would this damage the seals or would it be ok?

Thanks all and good shooting.
