Wildling 520
Hi lads I've had my IR300 illuminator now for a month and used it maybe 5 or 6 times no with problems. Then last tuesday night I was out for a bit of ratting at the stables and whilst setting up it was very hard to get a bright visible image on my sony handy cam. At first I thought that I had forgot to change the batteries on the IR300 or charge the camera, so back home I went to try again another night. But on thursday night after replacing and charging all batteries and a trip out to the permission the same problems occurred with the IR300 looking really dim both on my handy cam and with the red light glow itself. Really disappointed if this is the case as the laser on the whole is a great item with no major issues. So my question's are is it possible for this laser to burn itself out ? And if so how do you stop it from doing so again if it gets repaired ? Quote Link to post
dogvixen01 34
contact nitehunter as it should come with a 1 year warranty if bought from new . Quote Link to post
Wildling 520
Yeah thats what I was planing to do after the weekend as its probably out of hours now. However since it comes with no instructions on operating times or set up I was asking if any one could shed some light on what to do thanks Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
As Russell says contact Anthoni and inform him of the problem you have had pal. The laser diode can burn out if left on too long as they get very hot inside. The laser will need sending back to Anthoni for a new diode. My suggestion to you is once its fixed only leave it on for a very max of 20 to 25 seconds each time just enough time to spot and shoot the quarry, this way the laser works fine and doesn't burn out. Both myself and Davy have had the same problem once until Anthoni explained what was the case and now they are fine. Maybe Anthoni should explain this to his customers as they buy them as it would save him some work himself too. Si. 1 Quote Link to post

ukhunter 111
Nitehunter uses is a £30 odicforce laser + bits and pieces to build their laser and its is poor quality and i think its not fit for its purpose and see from other forums that a lot of people are having the same problem i would send it back to Anthoni and get my money back and go and buy a N1000 laser Quote Link to post
Wildling 520
What sort of benefit would the N1000 laser have over the IR300 ? Quote Link to post
barrywhite 282
these lasers can be bought on evilbay but there is a little circuit between the laser and the battery .Does any one know electronics to show how. Quote Link to post
