bird 10,013
what do you exspect.you cany keep lurchers in crates n not have proplems try lying in one yersel n go n carry a hud the next day.nuff said. Learn to read will you mate! And while your there grab a dictionary. He's not kept in there all day every day he's free to go in and out, and iv seen people keep 2 dogs in a crate the same size as the one he gets to himself without issues. So that says to me my old chap you talk bollocks the above right, dogs will curl up tight when cold, as alot of out side dogs do if the kennel not over warm in the winter . A crate unless twice the size of the dog height+lenght+ width , i dont think will give norm sleep to a dog. You watch them start to sleep, all dogs start to curl up, after say 1/2-1hour they will strech out and stay like that. Its only if cold as i said they stay tight. If the crate not as big as above its to small .?plus still get checked at the vet .!

SMART DOG 340
I have a young lurcher 10 months old and he randomly whines for unknown reasons when sat in his crate, I put it down to being a lurcher. But today the whine was more of a cry so I called him over to me and it seems as if he struggled to get up and was painful to walk it seems as if it's his back legs Or hips so I have an appointment at the vets but in the mean time does anyone have anyideas could it be cramp or something similar? is he a big dog I had to put a pup down last season as he had dysplasia and started like yours around the same age let's hope its not that, to rule that out I would be seeing a vet to xray I went to see a bone man and he told me it wasn't his hips but his knee so be carefull who you take it to and if in doubt get a 2nd opinion

Moll. 1,770
No such things as growing pains A pup should still be happy, bouncy and healthy for a while yet. Keep it on the lead or house rest untill you get it looked at.
