Malt 379
We do their work for them mate, the protestant work ethic is still very much ingrained in the north of Europe, the idea that working long hours somehow makes you a better person. Look at the way we look down our noses at 'lazy' Greeks, Italians and Spanish who hold different values. Its mainly because of that cultural difference that the euro was never going to work IMO. JohnGalway 1,043
So Ireland wanted to be free from british rule (I'm no fan of Britain and would rather have a free England) and has now jumped into bed with the Europeans? Ruled by military force vs consent to join the EU/Euro, ever so slight teeny bit of a difference there. Here's one for our Irish friends - and the rest of us should take note as the banker hasn't got a clue how to answer the question. Vincent Browne, gobshite.
bigdaz 688
Is this the beginning of the end??. The web for all its downfalls has allowed people to communicate and discuss things which pre web would have been unlikely. People are catching on and querying things now whereas before it was just accepted ( a lot still do) I don't know what lies ahead but it's going to be interesting to watch. The web was praised for allowing the Arabs to communicate with each other and do something about it, of course they are heroes, whereas in this country you're 'thugs'. It will be interesting
tandors 888
So basically there's a war on the horizon lol. Question is who against who? Race war or poor against rich? Or both?

We just need to remember we're all in the same boat - whether you're a copper or judge, labourer or working for a bank, the wool has been well and truly pulled. tandors 888
It can't get much worse as it is surely? Peoples mindset seems to be along as I've got a plasma TV with sky sports and can go on foreign holidays I don't care about anyone else.personally I'm most worried about mass immigration and the reasons behind it England really is at breaking point and people have no sense of national identity thanks to government and media propaganda .

Was having this conversation the otherday re lazy mediterranean types and we came to the conclusion they ain't lazy just bloody clever  I mean come on they work only slightly less hours than the UK (average) but they get a 2 hour break inbetween that's pure feckin genius

There's a few like minded people however but to be honest, everything that I've thought about is in my head and no one else's. My training took me through a lot of the rural parts up here and through permissions, the fact I live on the coast and my butchery job I'm more than happy that we'll be better off than most Having said all that, I'll go out of my way to help those who ask, the biggest problem if it did hit the fan is confusion and panic initially. Hence why the polititians and bankers are good at soothing the masses, and not telling the truth about the worthlessness of it all in real terms. Look at the articles of normal families stocking up on dried foods, people caching fuel, the increase in solar panels, water butts and other 'Free energy' devices, makes me realise most are thinking about it, but feel stupid talking about it.
