Malt 379
it all this money being spent to keep them in the euro when there best option is to opt out They're just throwing good money after bad IMO. From what I've seen, conditions are terrible in Greece due to the austerity, people are scavenging in bins and the suicide rate has risen by 45%.. The mess wasn't all down to the Greek people, it was their politicians and banks who let them down. Being tied to the Euro is killing them because they have virtually no control over their own economy. They've also got a very poor industrial sector, so I can't see how they'll ever power their own way out of the shit as things stand..

foxfan 479
It should be clear to most by now that these aggressive tactics by the ECB and IMF are nothing short of theft of national soveriegnty, no different than if they had invaded with an army. They install their own people to run their victims affairs (Greece, Italy) without any democratic process. It's the same format everywhere, run up the debt to an impossible level, then move in. By the way, Greece didnt lie to get in the EU, the EU lied to get Greece in ! They were the ones who audited Greece, and charged them 7 million for the pleasure. Most countries will jump against America, to get their own back for years of the yanks sticking their noses in dictating to others.
