asanley 1,009
The thing I,v found about competitive people is they genuinly don,t understand why anyone would think differently , they seem to have nothing but contempt for people who just arn,t as 100 per cent commited as they are , if my team lose by being incompetent or lazy , it,s a mild irratation to me , it dosn,t affect my life or my state of mind in any other way . I,v never been competitive in any way , thats probably why I never amounted to much in life despite having certain talents ,but it,s never stopped me being happy and contented , a happy healthy family , is about as ambitious as I get. People are different with different outlooks , there is no right and wrong way of playing / watching sport , just different ways .

People are different with different outlooks , there is no right and wrong way of playing / watching sport , just different ways . I see your point and i'm probably going to prove you right in what you've just said but i dont get how you cant be competitiive? If i do any sport i want to win, why would i want to loose? If i'm paying alot of money to go watch professionals then i want to see proffesional play. If i go watch Celtic then i 'expect' them to win....if i go watch Scotland then i dont. If i go watch Celtic and we loose it spoils my day but the oppostite with Scotland. Of course i want Scotland to win but if they dont its never a great deal because its not expected off them at this point in time because the players we have are not capable of winning tournaments. Now i've pointed out to Stewie that if i was to go down to Wembley and we were to beat England that would be an amazing day, it will still be an amazing day if we get pumped but i dont think that changes my passion or desire to win for Scotland......... asanley 1,009
Lab , I,m not saying that I want to lose , or that I enjoy loosing , I,m saying that winning isn,t everything to me . example ...two of my favourite players for Liverpool were Souness and Jan Molby , I enjoyed Souness,s commitment and passion and will to win . but I enjoyed Molby just as much and I bet the fat fker never broke into a sweat all the time he was here , theres room in my world for all sorts , whereas an ultra competitive person would probably think I,m a waste of space. baw 4,360
My auld man was a fervent supporter of Celtic(shocking I know) to the extent that my mother(girlfriend at the time) told me, depending on how Celtic did on a Saturday, depended on whether they'd have a date that night. If Celtic lost there was no point. Who does this effect apart from himself and immediately close to him? The players? The club? No c**t that's who. He soon realized with a young family his ways were unacceptable and he adjusted like wise. He still went to the football etc but would have a kick about with me after instead of drowning his sorrows after if the tic lost. Did this make him any less of a supporter? No, it made him a more stable person though. People allow things to control their lifes which they have no control over themselves. Call it competitiveness if you will, I call it weak of mind.
