Malt there is nothing on this green planet I want more than to see England get humped. You can call that small minded, pathetic, whatever. It's called rivalry and any real football fan will know what

this is just my cut on this lads but I'm now preparing myself to have my head caved in :D..

Obvously over the year being a so called Englishman I wanted to see the England team do well, when I says over the years I mean years and years and years and years :whistling:. I used to be fooled by the hype and fooled by the tabloid press giving it the big'un on how we can win this and win just about everything, each time my expectations was left in tatters, the final insult was not quailfying for thew Euro's last time round :cray:.

I'm sick now of watching a bunch of club players who otherwise perform admirably for their clubs fall flat on their faces when they pull on a England shirt, no doubt about it players in the past smashed goals in left right and centre for their clubs but don't quite hit the mark in a England shirt. I have no idea if its players not gelling together or what? I even have to say when I see some team sheets how the fook does some of the Liverpool players get on with the Man U players and vice versa? I even read somwhere the players tend to stick in groups with other players from their clubs until trainning. seems to me some players want the England caps to add to their collection but certainly don't wear their heart on their sleeves when they pull that shirt on, you only have to look back on youtube at some England games for the cringe factor.

no idea about this crop of players we have now being tried and tested but the answer in the past which shows in the results is simply "We wasn't good enough", its been like a long playing record but the needle has got stuck, everytime we enter a competion the headlines "We Can Win It" sorry lads! sad as it may seem these headlines won't wash with me anymore until we finally play as a team and show what we are made off  .

I would love to see them win a trophy but can't see it for a long while yet....

Majority of the players do not where that shirt with pride

I bet your a Man Utd fan Jasper :D ......typical " big club " attitude.....if i cant win im not playing :D.......if you want to listen to media hype for years thats your fault, personally im still yet to find an Englishman thats not in the media spotlight who says we will win a big tournament, this one or any other.

Its not rocket science our players are very good footballers, but then so are many other countries......what you think we are the only country that gets over excited about doing well......we do play as a team just not to peoples unrealistic expectations......well when you lower those expectations like fans of clubs outside the top 4 of the premiership have to do all the time you become that much more realistic and actually enjoy your football that much more.

The one thing i like about international football is in general you get the real fans of football going to games not the glory hunters from the big clubs.....England are well represented by lower division club fans at games percentage wise the amount of fans going out for the Euros will be very low in numbers from the top 4 sides......but of course when it comes to general football talk around the country those same England fans from smaller clubs dont get much of a say which is a shame because they are a lot more realistic than fans of the big club when talking about England.

Personally i think its 50/50 that we get out of our group.....if we do i,ll be happy....if we could make the semis id be over the moon.......winning the competition hasnt even entered my head......and why it would enter the head of any England fan i dont really know.

However did you guess Gnash . supported them since I was at primary school, cut me in half and I have Man Utd running through me like a stick of rock, having said that if I don't think much to a Man U player or the team sheet or the general lack of commitment in the way they play on any given day then I'll sit back and say, "The fookers deserved to loose that one".

Many times I have looked at some of the new buys thought what a waster, can also say the same about some players thats come through the ranks that think they have some sort of god given right to play in the first team when simply they're not good enough yet somhow they still get picked time and time again, the manager obviously sees things we don't but I judge players when I see them perform on the pitch, if they don't perform get them on the subs bench in in the reserves or at the worst move them on.

this is my problem with the England team. we get a new manager, how many times has that happend? as soon as the new manager comes in we can win everything :hmm:. we play a few friendlies and perhaps win a few, next thing you know the press has us beleiving we world beaters :D.

I've lost count the amount of managers thats come in in my lifetime, they obviously apply their methods and choose the team yet I have to say mate we still always end up disapointing and back to square one back to another team rebuild, how many rebuilds do we need? also why do they keep picking players that in the past have been louzy? why not take a look in the lower divisions and find a team that can jell, I watched one of the friendlies the other week and many many passes weren't completed because one player didn't seem to know what the other was thinking.

No doubt we'll be told it will take time for the new manager to build his team. lost count how many times that one's been said too :whistling: .........

I dont think we change managers more than any other country.....and if it dont work it needs fixing surely.....we tried the foreign route it didnt work no point carrying on with something thats not working....players wise i tend to think that a manager like your Alex Ferguson or Roy Hodgson for that matter, knows a hell of a lot more about football and footballers than we do....ok i know we all like to have a moan and think we could do better....but in the cold light of day mate these managers study these players day in day out they havent made a living off the game by not really knowing what they,re doing......its one thing saying we think certain players are no good etc......but to question the judgment of somebody like Alex Ferguson i just dont understand that.

I tend to believe that footballers in general give 100 % when they play....it doesnt always go to plan and occasionally they will play badly thats just the nature of sport......but this " lack of passion " thing we constantly hear these days i think is a pile of nonsense especially when it comes to England we hear it all the time......people seem fixated on Stuart Pearce shouting, screaming and steaming into tackles and base their judgment on him....the games changed now players cant just crunch in and up end an opponent in a tackle anymore without getting sent off......and no amount of screaming and growling is going to put the ball in the net......i mean what is this " passion " players are supposed to play with ? what does it look like ?....players running round like headless chickens is good to nobody.

Im of the belief we are a good side with good players but theres plenty of sides just as good and better than us,the margins are so slim at the highest level same in any sport.....look how small the margins between victory and defeat have been for us in the big penalty shoot outs we have lost we have been 1 kick of a football away...bad luck, bad technique ok maybe....but in a 90 minute game of football we have proved we are not a million miles behind and theres no reason to think we should be a million miles in front so we just have to support our side.......anyway  heres to another frustrating few weeks ahead.

Imo It's about time UEFA and FIFA stop trying to use these prestigious tournaments to bring social change to backward counties, they're meant to be the governing bodies of football not the United Nations...

Absolutely right Malt i agree 100%..................why cant we just have a football tournament without it having to give moral examples of how folk should live their life !...........and if a player walked off the pitch because he,s called a few soppy names he should never recieve payment for playing the game again.....

Arsene Wenger has spent years being called a paedophile by opposing teams fans nobody bats an eyelid.......................yet a black man gets a monkey chant and they want to abandon the game !!!.......................Let sport be sport and keep the politics for the politicians.
