MINSHAW .....

Recommended Posts

No offence bunnys but who r u?? What dogs do u run? U post alot and give plenty advice and criticsm. Ive probably missed the posts about yourself. And sorry if i have just trying to know who i am talking to so i aint talking to anybody with different usernames.

I aint on the defence at all i just posted a few opinions not aiming at anyone. Just adding my piece. The bitch has bulpa in her 3 gens bk in between is lurcher/lurcher.

In my opinion i cnt see him jacking in the field. More and likely death will be his way in the field due to the do or die action in it.

A agree collie influences my dogs and why not, pure bull or pure saluki, shepards or even the half xs of these wouldnt be any good fr me in my opinion. But i obviously dont mind a splash of these in my dogs (except the shepard as ive never had one or seen one of these xs work)

Your right he is becoming a dog and there plenty improvement from him, and thats a fact.

frankel i am a man who works the running types has your self i can assure you ya not talking to anyone else but me imay be getting a bit long in the tooth ,and therfore you may take my word on that has for the don dog read the post no mention that he cant improve has running dog mabn hes got about a season and half to gain those extra few yds and yes then he should be fully equipped for out, has for sheperds i have worked four over the yrs 2 stood out . but has for now my companion yes line bred over many yrs from only best to best will he be the next best of his line time will tell but if he dont i can assure you if he dont hell get the ten pence injection oh hes 4 yrs now .atb bunnys

I did manage to find a single photograph all be it not a great one. Can't really remember the night but the blue bitch in the picture belonged to my old mate from Workington.   The Handsome guy in

i wasnae having a dig at yous or yer dogs lads, i was just commention on millets pup, i dont gee 2 fooks who bred it, or what dogs its got in its lineage, he quick to jump in an try an shoot folks doon for caling the dog a colliex yet it is to me, whether its a colliex minshaw ir whether its a colliex grey i dont really care, but cmon to fook the dog is a colliex, is it not??

it seems yous lads dont like having your dogs called colliex's. yet yous have added not 1 but 2 full collies since yous had the strain...?

like i said its no dig to yous or the dogs, do what yous do with them, an i hope they keep yous happy, but ffs dont put a tag on ye dogs if ye cant accept that other folks are putting a diffrent tag on said dogs lol

Ok the fair enough. So i am taking to one man with one username.

I said there was improvement from him as u said there could be unheard stuff to creep in or turn into a jacker. So i am basically saying there no chance of that.

Towards the end your saying u have a lurcher linebred for many year and you still need convinced hes the next best from the line. Sounds pretty simiar to the situation with don. There is many of good dogs carrying this name tag "minshaw" Maurice, venus, diesel, just to name a few. So me saying don could be the best will just be my opinion.

Any pics of yor dogs bunnys just out of interest!

GENUINE QUESTION NOT A DIG, WHAT DOES ADDING A FULL COLLIE TO A COLLIE LURCHER BRING TO THE TABLE? SURELY YOU WILL LOSE PACE AND IN TURN LOSE MORE GAME IN THE BAG AS A RESULT

Iam sure people will of been asking the same question when collies, bulls etc where crossed with greyhounds.

IMO anyone who knows anything about running dogs can see what there trying to achieve by adding collie.

I MUST NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT RUNNING DOGS THEN  IF YOU START OFF A LINE BY CROSSING BULL OR COLLIE WITH A GREYHOUND THATS FAIR ENOUGH YOUR BLENDING QUALITIES LIKE STAMINA AND GOOD FEET FROM THE COLLIE OR BULL THAT THE GREYHOUND LACKS, WITH SHEER PACE WHICH THE GREYHOUND HAS BUT THE COLLIE OR BULL LACKS. BUT IF A LURCHER ALLREADY HAS GOOD STAMINA PACE FEET ETC WHY TAKE A STEP BACKWARDS BY ADDING MORE COLLIE OR BULL TO THE MIX AT THE RISK OF LOSING SPEED? WOULD YOU ADD PURE BULL OR PURE COLLIE TO YOUR LURCHERS AND EXPECT THE PUPS TO BE AS FAST OR AS GOOD AS THE PARENTS?

fair enough and good question.

Firstly back to a baseline for ourselves and our friends across the water in ireland. And we had the opinion he would throw good pups in the future which is the way we are wanting to go.

Secondly for what we use him on he is doing pretty good so i guess that could be a fluke or just good at it. He also takes everything that has been asked so far. And like ive said before i think he has more to offer.

Thirdly bulpa was the same breeding and it worked, why not try it again and reproduce another.

Fourthly the pace we knew he would lose was a chance. But there was also a chance he would throw more like Jack and posess speed. He isnt the quickest dog but has plenty speed to be honest. No 3/3 daytime but enough for what we require from him...His litter mates are doing pretty good wether it be daytime hare or sika in ireland they all seem to be serving a purpose.

Any spelling mistakes its because i am on my phone not laptop.

I'm not a Collie fan, BUT, I can see what Andy has done by crossing Jack with a REAL Collie ! He now has a dog, Don, who will be a great sire, to add to his line, or be an outcross to a greyhound or a heavily greyhound blooded line. Ive said it a few times before, and it may not suit the "puirists"m but I'd like to see Don over a Greyhound !

Cheers.

FAIR ENOUGH  WOULD BE INTERESTING TO SEE A DOG WITH THAT MUCH COLLIE IN THE DAYTIME I SAW A DOG WITH ABOUT 60% COLLIE YEARS AGO AND IT WAS A HELL OF A TRIER BUT IT COULDNT COMPETE WITH A GOOD LURCHER X LURCHER WITH SALUKI IN IT WHEN IT CAME TO THE WINTER. IT WAS A HANDY DOG TO HAVE AROUND FOR LAMPING AND HUNTING STUFF OUT OF COVER ETC

i didnt take it as a dig. To be honest i see why folk call them collie xs..

I dont give a feck what anyone calls them i am just sayin we want to call ours minshaws so we do. Simple as that. If i wanted to call them collie xs i would but i dont.
