bunnys 1,228
millet if you feel the bitch has in the department and , his a willing pupil take her on to advanced training , i know some feel this may not be necesary in the field and at that they may b right , but the input and stimulation for the bitch while waiting for the real buisness of work comes along . small examples stoping her dead when in hot blood and dropping finding dummys in cover finding dummys under water small streams to start with walking climbing frames all stimulation instead of going over old ground continious with a her , the bitch seems to have the capabiltys and you seem to have the drive to show her the way , just a thought rewarding and sts the animal up for life in the field of work , and on a brighter note just think of the game that could be sniped with a top draw trained animal , atb bunnys. 4 Quote Link to post

bunnys 1,228
I beat the a feildtrials champion twice way just a simple lurcher I wonder if MINNSHAWs blue could do any party tricks don't give use yr feildtrials pish deisel did not carry dumies or lures and I garentee it's a better faster retriever than most right to yr hand so all the glitters is not gold lol feildtrials grow man its not about blue the diesel animal were on about a wee collie bitch here fella blue the invincible was no different than most up and down the country back a then a cur bred to snipe , just happens it was all documented and hewas bred born in a time when game etc was a plenty and was kept by someone willing to run the gauntlet , this fella with the sapling his gleaning hands on knowledge with a biddable type , and that can only be for the good , i have no doubt these animals one speaks of may be natural types , but when harneses the natural type they become better, and just has a mute point there was some very mediocre animals in the field trials especially in the lata yrs . atb bunnys. Phil Lloyd 10,738
My advice to Millet, would be to enjoy every moment spent with his new jukel, and to give her plenty of time to mature. A work dog is an investment,..and is worth good money, as well as being a pal....So,..softly, softly... He knows this... Quote Link to post

Cheer's for that bunnys. .i have the time and patience to train the pup to do more advanced thing's but i don't have the need or infact want too..all what i want her to learn will be out in the field..be it shooting ferreting or lamping..all will be learned as i go along the way over the next several year's..i have never been to a field trail competition and i never will as that stuff bores the life out of me..i've been to a gun dog trial once and it was ok but i will not be repeating it.. 2 Quote Link to post

A good work dog is an investment,..and is worth good money, as well as being a pal.... So,..softly, softly... He knows this... All under control Chalky.. ..i have all the time in the world and they is definitely no need for rushing thing's..most of her walk's are just letting her run of the lead bushing..finding new obsticles out in the field and learning to overcome them herself..and she seem's pretty capable and confident at doing this..time will tell but for now i will just enjoy being out in the countryside whatching them do there own thing.. Guest born to run1083
Out last night with IanB cracking a few rabbit's out of a horse paddock for a farmer with the rimmy..i decided to give Lil a go at retrieving bunnies as she has been a pain with them..1st one she pissed about with flinging it in the air and running round the field.. 2nd 3rd where retrieved to foot and by the the 4th 5th it was to hand as i think carrying a pile of bunnies took the daftness out of her..happy with her is a understatment..she is also jumping double barb for fun now with good clearence..and by the way i am not being big headed i am just showing how versatile and quick learning this line of dog is.. It's not being big headed at all millet if anything I think she is on par for her age. And what I'd expect with a collie cur. It's nice to see tho people still put all the hours in with the finer details to field craft with a pup. It's something I think is a must with a pup. You can never do to much fun training with them to prep them for there adult lives 2 Quote Link to post

Millet 4,497
She look's a good one Aaron.. ..but then again i'm only saying that because she is similar to Kelsey and the same as what my pooch may turn out like.. .what was she like as a pup Aaron in your word's. training wise and tempremant wise..was she hard work or easy going or a bit of both..did she pick thing's up quick or did it take a few goes for it to click..was it a rough journey or a smooth one to get her to how you want her and how she is now ..
