Tiercel 6,986
Just a question as to how close the dogs have been bred. The revival of the Cocker in the last 20 years could be put down to a couple of kennels close (for close read inbreeding) breeding. It seems to have worked. What would you say the main advantages have been to this 'type' of lurcher by the interbreeding? I do know of another 'type' of collie lurcher that has been closely bred from plummer lines as a ferreting lurcher, by all accounts they are doing quite well for themselves at their discipline. Is the close breeding trying to preserve or rekindle the attributes that the founder dog (Vic's Blue) had? Or is it a matter of matching up certain attributes in dogs in the hope that what one parent would lack the other parent would make up for? No matter how closely related the dogs were?
