minshaw man 111
Before you laugh mate, just think of the stamina a husky could bring? I asked andy about outcrossing to husky & he gave me his opinions. A friend of mine, is also intrested in this X and he is a good dogman, as Andy would testify has your dog got not enough lyk coz a fort thats y people wanted minshaw 4 wind its been talked abt a few times but my onest opinion a rekon it would have to be bread down minshaws cant be doing the fing if youwant more stamina aaron Quote Link to post
Guest born to run1083
how long could they stay for its alot different staying for 3 mins once but staying for 5 mins 4 or 5 times is ano go for any greyhound on heavy black land..same as adding it to rabbitting dogs its ok when teh lands flat and perfect but when u running up dales mountains across heather rough ground ... we used to run catterick firing ranges my mate brough a greyhound one nite it had to be carried back to car after half hour.. and arent all greyhound s well bred with top breeding in them Most Greyhounds are well Bred not many are from Familys that have won much. Greys do have great qualities I'm a massive fan I always stick up for them on threads but running in a field to a track are different and need different qualities. You idea is different this way there be no need for tested stuff. I want a deerhound x should I get one off a dog that's just chased a lure in a straight line all it's life and been good at it ?????? I dont think so . Plus the with grey the more added the more injuries and ripped skin and fatal accidents happen. Me dads had some good ones in the field but never lasted always after 2-3 years either get killed injured. It Just takes that one accident and for a grey it's game over. Back to minshaws lol the don dog looks very strong on the pics but I was told he was actually a racey animal. Did they all throw racey in his litter or were there a few heavy ones due to being high collie saturated Quote Link to post

derbylad1 293
Well thanks for your opinion CP yes, minshaws are reknowned for their stamina, but imagine putting in even more stamina i said this before about the greyhound, but no one answered the question i put. If you add husky, they'd hard mouthed as hell and their pace is wank. Yes you'd bring in the stamina, but thats it. the negitives out weigh the positives. Does anyone own one, what they like to train. Edited June 18, 2012 by derbylad1 Quote Link to post

derbylad1 293
wish my permission had those sort of numbers to get those kind of bags. Its a good job i'm prepared to travel. I find my best nights aren't the numbers, its the way the dog has worked to get the quarry. When i had Ty (coco's sire), one night there weren't much out and struggling. But then we turned a corner and Ty started to really dig deep. In the end went from barely nothing to 2 foxes, 3 hares and 16 rabbits. Not a massive haul....but my best session ever. Its not numbers, its the quality of the dog. Edited June 18, 2012 by derbylad1 Quote Link to post

Did they all throw racey in his litter or were there a few heavy ones due to being high collie saturated Some are far racier mate and the odd one has slightly more of a collie look than Don..what has surprised me is the pups on the ground out of him all look pretty racy enough?..i'd be interested to see what pups would be like out of his and a Grew or something along those lines to be honest? Thats a canny bag of gear is that mate..the days of catching hares and deer are obviously not going to happen anymore but i'm glad i was lucky enough to have achieved what i did with the jukels when it was legal to do so Quote Link to post
derbylad1 293
A couple of pics. Ty was an ugly dogs, but a real honest grafter. Sadly broke both of his front legs in a rabbit hole...now a pet. Miss the old fella. Quote Link to post
