:wallbash: C'mon lads, take arguments to pm's. Would be a shame to ruin a topic that is without doubt one of the best the forum has seen for discussion with petty arguments, challenges and sniping surely? As no doubt if its gets deleted all we will get are "why was the thread deleted" etc etc etc

Minshaw man, i have deleted your last comment, i have given fair warning, this is the last one..............

Why was his post deleted

A husky...

This thred is mostly about Andys dogs and the dogs that his are from, its his choices when all said an done. He's used full Greyhound and full Collie, so what, from what I've read here they were both used in the line in the past and both types seem to be doin all right. Wouldn't be my direct choices but then I've never been as smart as to keep a line of fine dogs.

If anyone else owns a dog of this blood well.. Its up to them where they want to go with it.

I can't see what a Husky would add to a Minshaw, or any other line, for that matter. It would seem by this thread that Minshaws are predominately Collie/Greyhounds, with abit of Deer and Beddy way back, and a bit of Bull more recently. I think they are doing alright without adding any "exotic" blood !

Cheers.

Before you laugh mate, just think of the stamina a husky could bring?

I asked andy about outcrossing to husky & he gave me his opinions. A friend of mine, is also intrested in this X and he is a good dogman, as Andy would testify ;)

But aren't Minshaws renowned for their stamina any way ? Why add something that MAY give a bit more stamina, but would almost certainly detract the speed ?

Cheers.

A husky is a generic term just like a lurcher is. Threre was a thread on here not so long ago, about people going and working with dogs to learn some disapline in their live and how to control their own dogs. Some of those huskies looked pretty handy.

I Recon a hound would be better than a Husky....

Trail hounds cover some distance, natural hunters with following trials all over the cumbrian fells.

I would not like to take a chance on any hound or husky tho.
