The thing i have also noticed is the amount of kid's there is walking about with lurcher's these day..what are the parent's thinking of..i was talking to two 15yr old the other evening and one of them was boasting about letting his dog kill cat's and he also asked me if my dog does pig's FFS i said she is 7 mth old and to top it of it's illegal..another two different youngster's i was stalking to also boasted about his 6mth old terrier trying to kill cat's.. ..and he then proceded to throw his terrier on his mate's lurcher pup to try and get them fighting..neddless to say he was scattered..

It's the new fashion i'm afraid and the shit will hit the fan sooner or later..with kid's owning hunting dog's and killing summer leveret's in full veiw of the public..

He is fibbing my money is on they were mocking him because they had a larger bag than him and with less dog's so he made that story up to make them look bad :laugh:

Brockdog, the tex I am on about was born up your way and went to alass on a farm, it then went to a lad in Wales and ended up in Leigh lancashire. I have been told by a member on here that it is well bred but am unsure of its breeding, cheers .

Can't see why anyone wants to kill off their sport by hunting through summer other than a few for pups. Shows nothing but ignorance. Maybe you have to keep rabbits down for you're permission but you should of made a better job when the season was here.

But some farmers want "all" rabbits gone. and you know what they're like, they see 3 or 4 and say theres hundreds about. But saying that, so far i've only had the one farmer asking me to get the numbers back a bit, so a quick shine normally keeps him happy for a while.

i would only ever do summer lamping/hunting if one of my farms asked me. even then it would be an half hearted attempt really.

 

i am looking forward to this season, just to get back out with the dogs and to see/read about dons pups exploits.

yeah last year i held xena back a bit as she was still young and i wanted to make sure she got the "right" runs on the lamp. This season coming will be a different matter, i'll be trying to push her boundries and see where her limits lie. Need to get out there......any offers welcome lads...lol

Remind me what type of dog she is dl please? Our main problem last year is we never had a winter till Christmas. No rain wind or cold. Made some nights unsporting and others the cover still right up.
