200 pages. Thanks for that frankal. Some beautiful places round here for mooch an a good jaw. What you say bout the more bidderble collie types makeing a come back makes good senve to me.owning both saluki and collie types in todays laws. Some quality dogs in fine condition iv seen today that will not only hold their own but I think will excell anywhere on any ground in this country. Just dryed out an got warm lol. Thanks for the hospitality lads. Atb. Nick.

Cant beat the good old lurcher to lurcher imo.

I've got both one out of a straight grey and my other 2 are lurcher/lurcher.

The one out of the grey is keen as mustard probly abit too keen on a few ocassions its just ran straight into fences, walls or gates haha!

But it does lack abit in the wind department and isn't the best of turner. Also abit light framed for my liking. I'd put this down to the greyhound. But she is very nippy... Not as fast as swift though... So in theory i'd say the saluki lurcher has been more benifical than the pure grey for speed and size... Swift 26" Sox 24"!

But Sox is handier on stuff that bite back, and i think she'd throw a good pup with the likes of Don or Reggie!

But they all earn there keep upto press or they wouldn't be in the kennel regardless of breeding.

So my answer is lurcher/lurcher over lurcher/grey ;)

Now i know "jack shit" to be perfectly honest about the coursing side of things so without making a dick of myself or trying not to :icon_redface: ..this dog Buddy that seems highly spoken of how come it's had several owners in the past? Baz said earlier on here that even Vic Minshaw owned the dog at one time? Surely if it was that good it wouldn't of been passed around? What has it's latest owner got from the dog that others couldn't apart from the ££££ off stud fees lol?...just intrigued to know really?..ain't that fussed as like i said i know feck all about them just hear a lot of talk about the Buddy dog?...ATB Andy. :victory:

andy the jest with buddy his he his a great producer with breeding .

great topic guys keep it going...........a wee question though..........if it's not thought the done thing to put a pure greyhound into the line, why put a pure collie in?

Its been done before and its worked mate. Seems to be paying off again.

Also these dogs are bred for stamina and lamping... Collie v Grey only going to be one winner when it comes to stamina and so on. Also the dog thats covered these collie bitches certainly dont lack in the speed department. So they work well for what we want mate ;)

Genuine question mate are you into dogs or they money? dogs and money dont mix. im sure you will dissagree but we each have our own oppinions.

Dogs mate but the Money from the Greys was nice.

When it comes to the Greys its about Breeding,Rearing and schooling a Open class Greyhound.

Good ones are few and far between.

Then to Breed a Group 1 Winner was special.

To top it off his littermates were all First Class Competition Winning hounds Winning Group 1s Group 2s and Group 3 Comps as well as many Feature and Sky Opens and a Tk Rec .

Sound very money orientated to me

Give it a go from scratch.

Lot easier to breed a dog that will catch Hares,Deer, Fox ect

You go and try breed a Champion Greyhound.

i can see where though coming from max with the greyhounds , the achievent of breeding schooling and to go on to be top notch his a feat initself . atb bunnys.

Dean that Swift bitch is going to have pace.

Sam The Man - Waterloo Cup Winner

Sarahs Bunny - English Derby Winner

Ron Hardy - English Derby Winner ( i think )

Master Hardy-English Derby Finalist

Fearless Action -Open Class

Glen Corby Celt-Open Class

Midland Mist -Open Class

Its all about the Quality of Greyhound Blood Coursing Through her veins.

Imo you will get a good pup from her whichever way you decided to breed.

Be it Don, Buddy, Khan Jihad whatever.

Depending on what future type you desire.

I think the lad's got a good head on his shoulder's and will go the right way and i bet it wont be to a pure greyhound
