dazzz 421
What intrigues me is that some of these Minshaw dogs have been bred from untested and clearly under par bitches and folk have bought and are willing to backslap and promote what great dogs ~ bitches these are, when its clear they have not even done half a shift in their life’s. Do people not believe this puts the strain/ gene pool more at jeopardy?? Some may be potential jibbers that have not been pushed past a handful of runs and not given the opportunity to chuck the towel in. Yet they are “good uns” carrying “some good blood” .. Which of Barkers Bitches was finished after 11 rabbits down at Marks?? Did some just want some of these pups because Chester and Jack sired the litters?? Genuine question .. giro f**k off you weasel, get the brick to ask his own questions..... but ill answer it honestly, the minshaw tag meant nothing to me i had a dog out of poachers pocket lines that was a fecking lunatic i persevered until it bit my lad then that was the last straw,,,,,the lad i go out with had been gifted a dog of JB that was flick x beauty,,,from day one ive seen this dog and from day 1 he has impressed me,(and he is what you strive to be,,,,,keeps himself to himself not like US internet warriors) now we all now i wouldnt have to wait long for another litter to come along so i bought my bitch off JB i paid my mone and i took my chance (AND LET ME ADD SHE WAS CHEAPER THAN YOUR LITTER), so far it;s a desision i dont regret..... yes i was impressed by andy's description of the sire but more importantly i was more impressed by what had seen from my mates dog. so if thats me jumping on the band waggon then so be it but quit the snipe spinless comments you pathetic weasel get a back bone Edited June 11, 2012 by dazzz 1 Quote Link to post
derbylad1 293
Did some just want some of these pups because Chester and Jack sired the litters?? Genuine question .. Giro...what do you mean by this, can you explain? Of course i got xena because she was from Chesters blood, because i got plenty of good reports of what he was capable of. Its exactly the same reason as for the dam (timbers lily)as well. Two good dogs that come together, that gives me that good head start of a good pup. Quote Link to post

Guest Moscow
Dazzz with all the dogs JB bred some had to turn out ok, but the guy is a pure peddlar from what I can gather and hasnt a clue how to condition or work a dog to its true potential you and a few others were lucky to get decent dogs from that source IMO 3 Quote Link to post

Giro 2,648
Dazzzz I am wounded As for your refference to Mark Brick, forget him you appear to get a bit hot and frustrated when him and Minshaws are mentioned.. So you belived the dam to barkers pups was a Good un, Now this is not From Mark Other boys have traveled to Mr Barker and seen Four adult dogs skin and bone not a single muscle on them with toe nails longer than half your gangs noses  They never even knew their own names So his Bitch done fook all thats more than fair to say Now Marks Lilly, Marked admitted a few pages back "he aint a numbers Man" his bitch had done very little, when I saw it It could not run the beam it wanted rabbits at the end of it nose  My orginal question Derby Lad was...... What made yous lads Buy these dogs ??? I mean i know you wanted them of course, but what made you really want them?? Was it Because they had Good sires and they have a tracable history backed up with great tales and photographs?? Did Lilly not Jack after a trip to Cornwall ??? What did you think about the dam ??? Did you watch it work ?? Did you like its running style ?? I never mentioned band wagons either, Did that hit a nerve Lets just be frank old Charti and Red dawn have thought I am anti Minshaw I am not, not at all.. Credit where credits due a good dogs a good dog.. If i was any young buck looking for a Minshaw type dog I would be very careful where I got a dog from, I would want the pup to come from lads that test and push their dogs to the limit not some weekend warrior... Now that will of rattled a few cages I will just stick to me collie crosses, least they are workers 1 Quote Link to post
Rabbithunter 456
Well i'll be honest with you giro. I chose my pup (chester x lily) PURELY because it was out of CHESTER, as you know im very good friends with the man who owned chester. So listening to tales of that dog , and plenty pics & stories from Andy, I thought yep, i'll take a gamble. now could you tell me why it was you went for a pup (ruby) ? Was it the delightful tales of what the parents could do, did you see the parents in action? Or did you watch 2 hours dvd with bagpipes playing 1 Quote Link to post
reddawn 2,173
giro nowt to do way me if ye for or against them, i just asked cos it genuinely did look as tho ye took a change a heart over the last few minshaw threads, an i just wondered if there was some reason for it, an ye told me Quote Link to post
Giro 2,648
I went and saw both sire and dam and was more than happy with what I seen.. I got the bag pipe treatment and several cups of tea, the man even gave me a lamp.. Being my first running dog my expectations where not high Turned out half decent Thats a honest Answer Ryan, Thats why my pal took a punt on his. Purely because it was off Chester, and he had seen him run still in his prime. Quote Link to post
Guest Moscow
Just enjoy your dogs lads 2 Quote Link to post
Rabbithunter 456
cant beat a bit of the honesty steve I never got cups of tea though but I certainly got the bagpipe treatment, dont get me wrong im not getting at jim, but that bored the living daylights out of me. Mind you, I made my own dvd with lads I used to run with, and even THAT bored me Quote Link to post
derbylad1 293
I thought i just answered that with my original reply to your question. As for lily jacking, i cant really comment as i wasn't there and i've heard different stories on what happened down in cornwall. All i know is, (this is how timber explained it to me, i think....lol) that it wasn't just your conventional jacking, it was like she gave up on the running game for a while. I believe she is back at it tho....not too sure Quote Link to post
