FUJI 17,288
andy your honest reply earlier impressed me but ffs this post, the pics, stories and history just keep getting better Thankyou fella ..it does help when you've been around a while i suppose ..i know lads who have done more than myself but don't bother with t'internet and such, just look at Chalkwarren and the graft he's done in this game and for a lot longer than i?,lot's of "die hards" of the hunting game around,i take my hat off to each and every one of them because i know to get up there with the best and last it out it takes SERIOUS dedication to the point of putting nearly all and sundry in your life on the backburner ...looking back i wouldn't change one thing when it comes to my hunting ways ...looking forward i hope i can continue to find the work to run my dogs and run them hard..they are bred to withstand the vigours of hard graft and as long as i'm able they will get exactly that... ..ATB Andy. 3 Quote Link to post
birddog 1,354
maybe why i understand your commitment so much i've had running dogs 30 odd years and talking to a mate last night the same age who's gonna be looking for wife number 4 if she moaned about his dogs, i'm just hoping to be able to continue jumping fences for a few more years but again thanks for the enlightenment 1 Quote Link to post

FUJI 17,288
I've told this tale before and most of you have probably read it or know the craic about how Vic Minshaw's dog Blue met his maker. If this dog had died of old age then that would of been fine, even if he had been killed when at work or through illness but no,this dog met a far more grisly end. When in his later years old Blue was seen regularly trawling the streets for whatever reason that may of been?,and even then he liked to think of himself as the best,in more ways than one.He was never frightened of anything and would never shirk a battle, but on this day the wrong dog crossed his path, for even in his youth he could only ever be second. The dog he chose to disagree with was an American Pit Bull, the end result was obvious, for now he was in decline and not the force of old,the big strong brute of a dog he once was,was just a shadow of his former self. This warrior who had made his name legendary throughout Cumbria and much farther afield, with his phenomenal bags of game which he had caught running single handed, drew his final breath on the pavement of a council estate in the jaws of an American Pit Bull..what a sad end to a real champion of a dog .
