Well my luck was in two years ago, when my dog (MoChara) chased a rhea (looks like an ostrich) on a exotic farm in cavan, it was running too fast anyway so i thought theres no way he could catch it... and then the big bugger ran into a farm gate! It didnt look hurt because it got back up and away it went back into its enclosure. But the next day i got the dreaded phone call that it had died. But i was lucky enough that my cousin own the the rhea, and she had just hatched another baby one. But i felt so bad because i seen the rhea growing up from an egg, and it was a gorgeous big thing..

And the moral of the story is......."If your dog attacks a cat in the street and it hasn't quite killed it then get a bit 2x2 and chap it on the f*****g head!!!"

ive read the thread and carnt see where anyone apart from your good self mentions that

Beer Roasted Cat   1 cat cut into roast 1 can of Cream of Mushroom soup 1 cube of beef bouillon 1 clove of garlic 1 Fine Irish Stout, like Guinness   Cover and soak cat roast in salt water f

What if it was someone's yorkie using the shared garden, would that be any different? From the sound sounds of it both the cat and the dogs had equal rights to use the garden, but neither were kept under control. So since it was shared, I would guess that the dog owner would get the blame for having a dangerous dog but nothing serious. It's very unfair, but I get the impression that the law is bias towards the cat owner when there is a gray area like this. But hopefully the owner will be reasonable and understand it was an accident. Personally I would be more annoyed that the dogs were able to run in to a road, there is no excuse for not keeping a dog on a lead if it could get injured, feck the cat but it could chase it into traffic.

If your mate is friendly with the neighbours, surely they would know that it was in no way done intentionally and was a very unfortunate accident, they are bound to be very upset about there cat being dead never mind the way it was killed, but i think if they have a couple of days to calm down then they will see reality.. and reality is, that it was a horrible accident. But he should of kept control over his dogs even though its obvious he did not mean for them to get out loose, but he will have to take responsibility for his mistake, and hope they dont press charges, and learn from his mishap.

Thanks chaps, for the informative and humourous replies!

Well, all said and done, he's gotta pay in the region of 350 pounds vets fees for his lapse in concentration! *the cat was X-rayed before it kicked the bucket.

Ps I've got no time for cats, but don't like the thought of a family pet being killed and the upset it could cause.

Thanks again.

Hi all. .

A friend of mine has just had a horrible accident! He'd just finished taking his dogs for a walk, got out of the car, opened the boot to get the dogs and in no time they're playin tug of war with the neighbours cat!!! It happened on the front (open plan) communal garden. What are the legal implications???

Ps the cat is dead and yes he should of had tighter control of the dogs! He's offered to pay for the damage caused!

Beer Roasted Cat

1 cat cut into roast

1 can of Cream of Mushroom soup

1 cube of beef bouillon

1 clove of garlic

1 Fine Irish Stout, like Guinness

Cover and soak cat roast in salt water for 24 hours. Drain water and then cover and soak in beer for 6 hours. Drain and place in crock pot with your cans of soup. Add a clove of garlic, and a cube of beef bouillon. If you start to slow cook your cat in the morning with your George Foreman Cooker (or it's ilk), you'll have finely cooked feline in time for supper.

If a slow cooker is not available, a cat can be baked at 350 degrees for 2-3 hours in a conventional oven and still come out pretty good. Beer Roasted Cat is fantastic served with mashed potatoes, collard greens, and fresh, homemade egg rolls. When planning a full meal just remember- cat is a course best served hot!

Cat may not be the most glamorous, or tastiest of game meats, but with a little thought and preparation, Baked Cat can make the belly of the persnicketiest diner glow with home baked goodness.

Hope this helps

or just go to your local chinese and order "chicken". i'd say it doesn't taste bad. lol
