Ideation 8,216
Is it hard or soft? I would try a vet, but if it is muscular would really reccomend a visit to a bone man (dog osteopath).
killing crew 2,708
my pal had some thing simlaler with his bitch took her to bone man one day and he said when did she break her neck and we never knew she had. she was still running and catch with it. bone man said its common in greyhounds when the go over
robwelsh 354
It feels like tissue like..soft and bumpy bits ,and it only on one side..broken kneck ,don't get me worried now lol..I'm taking her to vet 100% tommorow,I take no risks with her lol..she hasn't had any knocks bumps or tumbles lol and she's sharp as a button..but can be abit whimpery now and again with it..when I touch it etc, she doesn't cry then though..f*****g strange ehh? Ideation 8,216
If the vet doesnt know 100% or if they say its muscular etc i REALLY would advise a bone man. I have used Robert Meek, he comes down to a kennels in the forest of dean and will see the dog for ten quid, best tenner you will spend!
skycat 6,174
Definitely see a good bone man: pet dog vets aren't anywhere near as good on soft tissue damage.
robwelsh 354
I'm in south wales, and I haven't got transport atm..I live 20mins from ystrad greyhound track ..they would know of local bone men wouldn't they?
Ideation 8,216
Robert meek comes down to a place about 15/20 mins from monmouth. But the track would also probably know someone.
robwelsh 354
Thanks for the sensible replies lads an lasses, I'm off to bed now..il be getting on the vets case tommorow, see what they say inbetween the time I can hopefully get hold of the proper vets lol Infact might be worth my while ringing the dog track before the pet vets
sandymere 8,263
Going to a vet is the right action, from your description it could be hundreds of things from an abscess, to swollen glands, haematoma, cancer etc etc and a bone man can't do anything for any of them but a vet can, hopefully nothing serious but better safe than sorry.
robwelsh 354
Sandy, your correct, the bone women..said she wouldn't be able to do anything, because I described it as a swollen bit with lump in it etc, pretty much felt like a vein or what not,and she advised me to a vet,or wait untill swelling goes down then go to her. So il be off to the vet ..she not that put off, she's wolfing carcuss etc down her..and it won't be long before she comes into season either si could be swollen glands or feeling under the weather, what ever it is I shal let you all know LOL
