The Duncan 802
Does anyone use an Airedale terrier for anything? All the ones I've met have been nutcases; either schizo or psycho. I know they were originally bred for hunting otters, but do they have a place in hunting today?? Quote Link to post
Simoman 110
Not in this country, i know somebody who uses them as decoy dogs for coyotes in the USA, i have a book here with photos of them treeing bear. mountain lion, boar and retreiving shot game, but i dont think many people anywhere work thm over other purpose bred breeds. The Oorang strain seemed to be the ones used in the states............ Quote Link to post
chartpolski 24,649
The Aussies use them in working dog lines for pig, and for running dog lines, but maybe they have access to working Airedale lines... doubt there are any working Airedales in the UK, although I have seen some big, strong looking pet types. Cheers. Quote Link to post

Never been a dog I've wanted but there seem to be an awful lot of em in my neck of the woods lately Quote Link to post

2.8 guy 403
Sky cat liked the info, my mate will like reading that, i notice a couple of things one being yet again the mention of "show people" spoiling a breed and the other the americans having better quality stock of our native breeds Quote Link to post
