It might not be that rhyming slang is taken from you Cockney's (Although Mars bar probably is), different places around England have their own rhyming slang. I know Brummies have used rhyming slang for as long as there has been a Birmingham. Only thing is, this multiculteral epidemic has seen to it that most of our own sayings phrases and slang has disappeared .
