My new lurcher...

Recommended Posts

This is my new lurcher "lady".

I posted pictures of her yesterday asking what cross people thought she was as my mate was interested in her. He didn't have her in the end, said she was too big for him, but I was really taken by her.

She walks to heel and doesn't leave my side. Recall is ok, needs work but I'm expecting that will improve when we have formed a bond.

This is the photo I posted yesterday...

She is a lot thicker set than this in the flesh and definitely bull and saluki based. Probably sal/grey x bull/grey I'm thinking.

This is a quick head shot of her just this afternoon doing some bonding on the sofa...

Just a quick update for those who were following.   Had her just over 2 months now and she's doing great, really bonded with her.   Just had her out on the lamp for half an hour, I know it's still

Happy Happy dog given a 2nd chance, happy owner, all coming together nicely

Just been out on a walk with her.   She walks off lead better than on. Pulls like a train on the lead but did settle a bit after a run across the fields. Off the lead she walks to heel. Walked her p

Supposedly 2 and half mate.

She looks a lot older with that grey on the muzzle but her teeth are in good nick and she plays about like a puppy.

She might be 3/4 I guess. She can't half shift and she's nowhere near fit. Can't wait to get her in shape and see her behind a rabbit.

No mate I aren't. I think my missus would rehome me if I brought a 3rd dog home.

It was a tough decision as I do love whippets and have always wanted one. But there was something about this bitch and my gut instinct was saying give it a go.

I will have a whippet somewhere down the line

Thanks mate. As you say, I will never know her breeding but doesn't matter really. She's a lurcher

Her owner died so she went to a friend but he doesn't work dogs anymore and couldn't cope with all his own pet/show dogs aswell as this lurcher.
