lifelong cumbrian 1,826
Smart couple of dogs mate, should give the rabbits a load of trouble. Any idea what bedlington line the 3/4 is from. Quote Link to post
joshmarto 13
the fawn dog was bred by cumbrian rabbiter of this site not sure of the beddy line Quote Link to post
Ratreeper 441
love the look of the beddy/whip...I have a novice question but how do you rate the difference in intelligence between them? Not really in terms of training but more hunting style and thinking for themselves. Quote Link to post

Not really in terms of training but more hunting style and thinking for themselves. firstly smokey the fawn dog having a better nose with that touch of beddy in him and he will work 100% when out in the day but can be very stubborn at times, when i have him out lamping he seems to catch more on the harder slips than the easy ones i think he is trying to work out where the rabbits are going to run before he is slipped.the bitch gypsy is still training,so i cant really say much about her but what she has done so far looks very promising and she is more loyal and quicker off the mark.it looks like she's coming on well Quote Link to post
burnie69 376
I use to have a beddy/whippet and he seemed to do the same. Easy rabbits what you thought was in the bag sometimes made very hard work of then no hopers, long runs he seemed to excel at. I really rated the little dog though he wouldnt take a fox singlehanded (pre ban) but if slipped with a dog what wouldn't take a fox seemed to give him confidence and he'd take em on his own.He also was a very good retriever of land and water be it fur or feather. regards burnie Quote Link to post
