dogs eating poo and pup barking when chasing other dog need some advice

Recommended Posts

I have never heard of this pineapple idea, why does that work? I thought dogs ate poo if they were lacking something in their diet, or some just do it anyway and you can just let them know it's not a good idea in the latter example.

They dont like the taste of it when it comes out the other end. It works well,i put a spoon of juice on her food for one week and she never ate it again, that was about 2 years ago.

thats great thanks il have a go at the raw diet, i thought it would change in the field with the barking shes getting closer to him now so not doing it as much shes all over him when shes chases, as i said shes only 7 months and this is my only worry thanks again

Not a good idea to let a pup chase an adult dog around: quite apart from the fact that the pup is getting frustrated because she couldn't catch the adult;(that's why she barks: frustration in this case), it pulls a pup on to do more running than is good for it at a young age. She wants to catch up with the adult and is more at risk of damaging young joints and bones than if she was just allowed to do her own thing.

I suppose their might be a possibility that frustration barking when chasing the adult could eventually transmit to barking on prey she can't quite catch, though I must admit I've not seen it in my own dogs: a lurcher that barks in play doesn't usually bark when chasing prey, though some do. A lot depends on the breeds within that lurcher; terrier or Collie blood seem to be the most prone to it.

as to your pup barking, i wouldnt worry about it to much , mine done the exact same , but its a totally different dog when its out working, even now when they are out chasing one another they still growl and bark like hell, but they realise themselves when its fun time and work time, dont be to hard on her, let her enjoy being a pup she will come good in the end

Feed a good varied raw diet including meat, bone and vegetables: never had a dog eat dog shit when on a raw diet.

Pup barking whilst chasing other dog is playing: totally different to the zone a dog is in when it is hunting prey.

What do you think of a terrier pissing in the water bowl as soon as i put fresh water in it

 I have one of them terriers aswell but I cured mine

Put the bowl up higher: fix it to the bars of the kennel too high for it to use as a toilet! Or stand it on a concrete block: so long as the dog doesn't knock it off.
