Training a Lurcher

I have a 16-18 month old lurcher cross deerhound I think. ive had him about a month now and had him from rescue. would I be able to get him to hunt rabbits and other game?

If so, how do I go about doing it?

He loves it in the marsh land nearby and there have been some ducks on there recently, should i get him on there more often?

Jimmy, its all about finding a speck (fields) where there are a few bunnys about and no-one would mind you going for a walk there, pref early morning or as the light is fading in the evening. Or you could do as Paulus says and try it on the lamp, best finding someone who gets out a bit and ask if you could go with 'em and give yours a try.

if your ner by can cum lamping ferreting and mooching with me and my dogs i got all the kit

Ive got all the kit to go ferreting but none to go lamping.

So I should just try looseing him out in a feild of rabbits?
